To me Grasp seems to be extremely good in laning phase, but underperforming outside of that

Obviously this has to be with being able to stack it on minions during laning phase, but also the fact that teamfights happen so fast that 4 seconds for it to prime is way too long for the reward it gives you, compared to something like conquerer that is.

I propose a simple change that'll make it useful once you leave laning phase, make it so past level 11 the time needed to prime Grasp is 2 seconds instead of 4. This way you'll be able to utilize it a lot more during team fights and late game duels, and might even spawn some actual "undying" situations.

Well, Grasp is borderline oppressive in laning and the thing that makes it scale a little bit is the health gain, but it's still sort of garbage in lategame teamfights. I think if we make Grasp scale like your suggestion, we should remove the health gains.

Using it frequently in the laning phase also rewards you in the late game since it adds extra max health. And even in teamfights, it can add some extra healing if it's extending enough.

With that said, it really is meant to be that rune game rune for the resolve tree. Aftershock is consistently useful during the whole, but procs much less frequently. With that in mind, you have to make your choice on what you want there. Early game sustain, or mid-fight tankiness/damage.

Let's be real here though, nobody besides Rengar or Gangplank is capable of stacking Grasp to 20+ during the laning phase, and that results in 100 health and nothing else. Not really that strong

I like the proposal, or at least the gist of it.

Grasp has always been completely void after the laning phase, I think downing the buffer time after laning phase is a good idea. Maybe 2 is a bit much, try 2.5 or 3 seconds first.

As for why I think Conqueror is okay to have 4 second buffer even in late game but doesn't seem to work for Grasp, I'd like to think it's primly due to the distinction that Conqueror once triggered is a buff that lasts several seconds which can also be refreshed by continuous attacking while on the other hand Grasp is a "1 use" every time it's triggered where you use it and it's gone; if you know what I mean.
