So Soraka appears to be in a good spot right now...

But as one of the top soraka players of my country (siegfriedx1, server Brazil), and the top soraka master tier player from 2014 (also of Brazil) i would like to point point out, in the name of Soraka Player's community, that her starcall needs a change. Not big, not huge, not a rework, but just that: Make starcall healing projectile (AND ONLY THE HEALING PROJECTILE) speed up in the same proportion as Soraka loses health.

Well, explaining that a little bit, soraka is a strange champion to land starcalls. Immobile, having a casting time although worried about everything around, it's a skill designed to reward the skilled player that manage to lands it, specially when you are low health. Surely, although hard, she can do it, but is most likely to happen in the middle of a confuse fight than when you actually want it, the only normal situation you can count on Starcall would be when the enemy champion you want to hit is really close to you.

And that's where the problem happen. When soraka was released morello said something like: "Soraka healing projectiles exists so skilled soraka players can manage the damage input so they can heal more receiving more damage (the skill heal more when you are low at HP)" What, although at the launch made some sense, after more or less 1 year of gameplay with her, it proved to be not entirely correct.

Although soraka is a late game support (with 500 ap, she does madness), during the late game, where the damage output is so fast sometimes you can't respond and she should shine to some extent, waiting until the slow as hell heal from starcall travel to you turns out to be simple bad design, specially (and actually, only) when you are at critical levels of HP.

Think with me, if i am really low health, and there is, for example, this irelia really close to me that allows me to land my starcall on her (pointing that this is where starcall is most reliable), why the hell it's healing particle have to be slow? I can get it being slow when i am close to full health, as i can manage to not waste or to heal more in the initiation of a fight after a few hits, but why to be slow at critical levels of health? It just creates an opening at late game to nulify a big importante part of soraka's kit (the self peeling part) and nulify her from the game!

As Soraka does not bring impressive peel off, but demands peel off, her only resource of self peeling should feel reliable although it does not mean she will survive (it's an Irelia, after all). It's just a matter of reliability, so the champion feels rewarding and skillful, not bad, as sometimes it happens to be.

In conclusion, speeding up her healing projectile as soraka health get lower will bring confort and reliability, creating more confidence and high risk plays that will enchant the way the community play with soraka right now, specially at higher elos. Thank you for the consideration.

OBS: Fix no being able to heal youself if zhonya is activated; OBS2: Fix the Silence vs Zonya soraka problem already.

Too bad they recently gutted her.

"Soraka no longer turns a funky blue color upon using Zhonya's"

It was a heavy nerf, after all.

I mean, the slow Q calls for healthy gameplay. She can't just sit back, land (LIGHTNING FAST) Q's, and heal her ADC/Teammates. That's no fun for anyone.

A good Soraka player will anticipate the where the slow Skillshot lands, while a bad Soraka will waste her mana on it.

And I'm pretty sure Soraka is suppose to provide peel to her teammates and not herself, she should be in the backline landing Starcalls and running in once in a while to heal.

Did I mention Starcall has hella range?

You misunderstood. The speed up is just for the healling projectile. Not the starcall itself. Although it appear, at first glance that a good soraka player would have the option to land starcalls following that idea, what actually happen is that, at late game, you land it, but can't actually use your reward because the healing projectile is too slow in many different situations.

Soraka can't provide peel as other support to her team. She cancel out damage and increase the success rate of high risk plays, but self peel and peel off for her is part of her identity.

Also, landing starcalls at max range with low health it's another problematic, although not unbalanced, situation, as starcalls slow down when you try to hit far away.

If you're low on health, shouldn't you have put in a lot of work already? I'm assuming you've gotten low from healing your team which should of provided a huge advantage unless they've just been eating skill shots without retaliating.

That is not a fact at all times. As i said, the main situation is where starcall is reliable (where there is someone on you, like a vayne for example) on late game. Starcalls that you land after healing your teamates are usually far away starcalls, that are slow to land and easy to avoid. Soraka starcalls when you are close to an enemy (most likely when there is an enemy hiting you), should feel reliable about it's function (as close range is the "safe high risk zone" for soraka).

Also, it's part of her indentity to reward players that can land starcalls after a lot of work to get her able to heal again. I don't get it your point considering she is designed to it.

Take in consideration that it's a change to hear healing projectile not the starcall itself.

I'd prefer that she got a small rework.

Why? Talk more about it and enchant the topic! I like her.

C'mon Guys bump it ^^

How to make this topic appear for riot games?

soraka is very strong. if there are little irritating glitches that prevent you from being able to actually make all your teamates unkillable....i say thats a good thing. I play a fair amount of soraka myself and i feel shes maybe a bit op. So dont complain too much about not being quite the godmode healer you dream that you could be....cause you are damn close enough.

If you are close enough to starcall people, then you are also close enough to get attacked. its actually kinda dangerous. Personally i sacrifice some fo her ap and get more tanky with her. Like Ill get warmogs. That way in case assasins figure out to focus you first (as they should) its not necessarily a teamfight disaster. goign 500 ap is a bit arrogant of you imho, its like getting mejas on karthus or somthing. Gotta have a reasonable amount of survival.

So your point is trying to say i want soraka to be a godmode healer because i die building full ap, and because that is the main point of the topic i should change my build and it's done? Maybe to get some elo?

Well, it's clear you missed entirely the point of the post/ not even bothered to search about me on google.

Soraka healing projectile is slow on it's going back because it was designed to create an opening to soraka administrate her life in order to make her lose more health (during the travel) and heal more (once the projectile arrives). There is no point on that mechanic when she is at low health .

THIS Is the essence of what i wrote, not your point.

Honestly i really feel like you don't main her in the way i do (although that is not a requirement to post your opinion) as you said "glitches are what make her balanced". This is a straight absurd created by a disrupted and poor perception of her characteristics.

I just got master tier 2 times in a row with different accounts in Brazil only soraka and i have more than 5.000 games with her already (all accounts together). I am giving an important feedback about a very specific characteristic of her not asking or poiting about buffs or about how to survive, or what build to make when someone strikes you.

That is simple not the point of the topic.

I would still like to hear from you about the main concern of the topic, if you feel like it.

As i said, the problem is that her projectile speed make starcall healing unreliable at important situations at late game. Please, talk about that.
