Many champions compete over being "a good split pusher"

"A good split pusher" has to beat the crap out of his lane opponent and not just in the early game.

Therefore to be "a good split pusher" you have to be able to 1v1 the other guy who is also "a good split pusher"

This calls for an escalation in power level.

Also, non "good split pushers" cant lane top anymore.

Not necessarily. The power creep problem can be solved by giving splitpushers a lot of outplay potential (therefore making them hard to play by design, but with a high skill ceiling). This way the power level stays the same for every champion and what determines the winner between the two players is their respective skill level.

but you still kick all the "non split pushers" out of top lane.
until a "top lane lulu" comes in and shakes the world and all the riven/yasuo mains cry "cancer cancer"
this only works in silver and bronze. At higher elo, play styles becoming polished causes results to become known.

Honestly, point and click cc is not fun, but we already have the solution item 3140 .

this only works in silver and bronze. At higher elo, play styles becoming polished causes results to become known.

Not true. The skill level between players is vastly different in each tier, from bronze 5 to challenger 1.

I am just bringing up lulu (and ryze) as the reality of what it actually took for the "good duelist top lane" meta to actually shift. I'm not trying to discuss whether lulu is fun or not for the other guy - but she did dislodge a meta that was all about kill pressure and lane shoving into a more utility / teamfight position.
