Is Jhin officially FOTM?

A month later & he has only risen in playrate unlike most new championd cough cough Illaoi. His winrate is above 50% and he's the 5th most picked champion on the rift.

Technically 4th because Aurelion Sol is at #1 and we all know that an ap mid won't last long.

So, is Jhin a FOTM now (flavour of the moment)?

I'm not so sure about that: Aurelion Sol has a really powerful kit.

His roaming potential is TF levels, he has great manaless wave-clear and harass with orbs, he's got solid utility with his CC. TF is still used competitively to respectable levels of success even though TF's kit is pretty garbage outside of his ultimate, and Dragon-boy pretty much has that roam potential in his QWE. None of Aurelion Sol's abilities are bad either, he's got a lot going for him so it's pretty difficult seeing how Riot would kill him. ATM his manaless AoE allows him to jungle pretty well, which is a very unusual strength for any mage to have.

Also: a lot of AP mids have lasted a really long time at the competitive level, it's mostly Silver/Bronze/Lead tier players that struggle using mages. Like in pretty much every game ever: mages require higher levels of skill to really use effectivly, but heavily reward skilled play.

I don't understand the point of the question. Maybe?

No, he is the same jhin as always. People just needed to learn how to play him...had to learn a new way to play adc, which (predictably) took a while.

"we all know that an ap mid won't last long." This is coming from a kid who doesn't know how to play an ap mid so he blames the meta and seeks sympathy for his role on the boards. Nobody cares what you guys have to say, that's why you don't really see any reds going around and patting you guys on the back, assuring you that they will cater to your needs. You will have your turn when the mage update comes out, don't expect any big itemization changes, because the reds themselves have said they aren't focusing on new item releases. For a long time ADCs have had inferior itemization compared to mages. Mages had items providing every kind of stat they needed, like resists, health, ap, utility, etc. While ADCs were stuck with AS, AD, and crit (lifesteal was limited to Bloodthirster only in previous seasons). Now that the marksman class received somewhat equal itemization compared to mages, all of you people who don't know how to deal with marksmen without them having an inherent item disadvantage come to the boards to bitch and ask for Riot to help you out by nerfing an entire class that was deemed weak up until their update. And I don't buy that whole "mandatory" argument you guys like to pull out. Being that there are two main types of damage in this game, magic and physical, it is only natural that teams will try to get both to make sure their damage isn't completely negated by anyone choosing to buy tank items. It is only more obvious to choose dps over anything else if you are picking a damage dealer, as it will provide more damage, it is more effective against tanks, and it makes capturing objectives easier. So for all of you people complaining about ADCs, generally ADCs are an essential part of mobas, just like tanks, mages, and utility, Riot will not throw their game in the trash just to please a few people. This game will always have ADCs in the state of meta.
