According to the lol wiki as well as my personal experience:
"If the camp's large monster has already been slain, Ivern will free the camp upon completing the channel at AT NO COST. Similarly, the grove will instantly mature if the large monster is slain"

It only screws Ivern a bit more than any other jungler. An Ivern wouldn't ragequit from "losing" one camp to an ally. Mordekaiser isn't even getting anything for himself out of it.
