you can minimize comments without scrolling :P

Glory ln DeathJan 1, 20171 votes

Yeah, but you have no idea how long the comment is until you actually get to the end of it. You don't think you need to do that until you get far enough in that it isn't worth it to scroll all the way back up.

I think the current one represents my view of Vel'Koz's appearance better while the new one just looks cooler by pose, angle, etc

I don't know, it looks too much like nautilus's armour and I think pink is more iconic to Vel than purple/blue.

LostFr0stDec 30, 20167 votes

I agree, for a different reason though. The top one makes him out to be a bad guy, when all he really cares about is knowledge. The bottom (current) one is more observational.

Velzard of KozDec 31, 20162 votes

THIS I meant to write. I like the proposed one, but it is only a bad propaganda to make Vel look bad. We all know he in fact is the kindest tentaculoid in the void!!! #alltentaclesmatter

Mecha IncognitoDec 31, 20165 votes

I dunno, that sort of makes him a bad guy. You know, the whole disintegrating everyone he comes across thing.

Besides, the top one has quite a lot of action in it. The bottom would be better if one there was some kind of interaction with... well anything, would have been nice.

LostFr0stDec 31, 20161 votes

I disagree, Vel'koz doesn't disintegrate everything without a reason; he just wants to eat/assimilate knowledge. That's like us being evil for eating cabbage.
He even mowed down void-kin that were destroying stuff just to destroy it. If anything he's just impartial and self-centered.

Would be nice if it had a background, but Vel doesn't really want to interact with anything.

Mecha IncognitoJan 1, 20172 votes

Well, he's actively going out disintegrating for his own personal gain.

And when I mean interaction I mean, just showing him doing what he does, as opposed to just sort of floating there. It looks like a really old splash art, that's been polished really well.

LostFr0stJan 2, 20171 votes

Hmmm maybe neither then. After a while he'll end up needing splash tweaks; I think his should be more like his in-game taunt.

Nah. Too busy for a classic art. It does look good, but doesn't really fit League's look (kind of like all of the chinese arts, but actually good looking).

I think it's overly artistic. Splash arts should be simple enough so you can quickly recognize them on the mini map

People used to complain about Malzahar looking too much like Kennen on the minimap. After a few games it's really not that big of a deal.

When I first saw Vel's current splash, I thought he was a snake-like creature with the way his left arm was.

Mira Arya EntheDec 31, 20165 votes

Splash art should provide clear, clear imagery of the champion, without a ton of special effects or stuff in the way. So people get a clean idea of who they are playing with and against. Also so it is easy to see "Ah that is what they look like."
