PSA: If the game is 8-24 and we're behind 8k gold and 4 turrets, it's time to surrender

Okay, I usually don't tilt (not anymore, at least), but there's something that tilts me beyond belief and it's when people force you to play a lost game/stomp.

While I do agree that some games are winnable even though we're behind early game, I don't think that a game in which we're behind 20 kills, 10k gold and their t2 turret are still up is winnable. Do people really enjoy getting stomped? Because I don't have fun in PvE matches in which I either leave base and instantly die or I farm waiting for something that I don't even know what it is.

What's worse is that I'm forced to "play" unfun games or I'll get punished because 2 people on my team are (apparently) having fun and genuinely think they can carry and win.

Same

Had this game where our top/mid/bot was destroyed, kids thought they could win so they voted no, and we wasted like 15-20 more minutes losing.

Time that could be used to play another game, a potentially close game instead of a stomp.

Not sure why we’re getting downvoted, probably because the “never surrender!!!1” mentality is 2strong.

inb4 "hurr durr nevah surrendah"

After a certain time and a certain score, refusing to surrender isn't that different from griefing.

I refuse to surrender if its someone who fed there guts out during lane phase that started it.

Then you're just replying to some bad behaviour with your own bad behaviour

Death by Glamour2 votes

its bad behaviour to vote no to a surrender vote?

Have you even read OP's post?

In most cases no, you have the freedom to choose wether you want to surrender or not.

But, as OP said, not in every situation, only in those games where the game is lost to the point it's not even fun, to the point where there simply isn't a single reason to keep playing, other than pure masochism, then yes, if you still refuse to surrender, you're just forcing other people to appeal to your whims, you're forcing them to stay in your meaningless charade, instead of queuing for, hopefully, a better game. If the game is past 25-30 minutes, it's evidently, painfully lost, why must we drag this dreadful thing any longer? It's just asinine, and rude. Don't you want to try again, with someone else, having learned from your mistakes, and trying to do better? Or you'd rather wallow in the filth you made for yourself during a single game? If you prefer the latter, you still should not be allowed force other people to stick with you. [sg-janna]

I know it can be frustrating to keep trying in a game that feels like it was decided 10 minutes ago, but it's your job. It's what you're comitting to do when you queue up. If at least two people want to keep playing, it keeps going, that's why there's a vote.

If the game is really that over, you'll lose in less than five minutes anyway. If you don't lose in less than five minutes, than it wasn't really that over anyway.

Uhm, or maybe the enemy team can't/doesn't want to end yet? It happens quite often and there's not much you can do except farm safely or wait for a turret dive.

I agree that some games end in 5 minutes or even less anyway, but you have to consider that there are games that last way longer and a surrender can save you save some time you can spend playing a close and fun game.

If they can't end yet, you aren't that behind.

If they don't have the ability to push through your defences, your team has an opportunity to play safe and farm up.

This exactly.

If they can't end the match, they're either missing some vital part of their team (which can be easily exploited once you even out), or you're just not as behind as it looks, and they actually just have a lot of objectives but are still relatively equal to you in power.

PSA- im still clicking no. If i need to carry you on my back and build Triforce Leona i will.

Fisher No Chains2 votes

I’m sorry to burst your bubble but I don’t think that a triforce Leona can do much against a 13/3 Irelia with 4 items at 20 mins :/

Pika Fox3 votes

Well, it has an infinitely better chance at success than /ff

Comebacks happen. Rarely but they do. All you can do is farm. That's guaranteed gold you can get. Farm up, get more items, try to pull it back.

Fisher No Chains1 votes

Comebacks are extremely rare in this meta though. If the enemy snowballs early game, you're going to lose 90% of the time.

Also, for how long do you need to farm to recover a 8-10k gold lead? They're going to end in 10 minutes anyway.

I generally tend to vote no in a surrender. I make exemptions sometimes but usually I refuse to. Why? Because its practice
