Anyone who thinks she's imbalanced is bad and needs to stop crying and learn how to play against her instead.

Very very situational. In her zone she can delete everything up to and probably including rammus depending on how many tents her ult spawned.

Most of the time, especially in higher elo, no one plays her in her zone and she's kind of useless.

Even if she was in her zone, she could still instantly be locked down and shredded if she got CC'd against a competent team. At the very least, CCing her and instant backing out would prevent any meaningful damage from her.

As psuedo tanks, juggernauts want to absorb cc. The more cc you spend on her the less you have for her carries.

Also, neat trick, illaoi is immune to cc during ult animation. If there is a spirit inside her ult, upon spawning, all the tentacles will slam towards the spirit at least once. Dont downplay her too hard, downplay her just enough ;)

But unlike other juggernauts, she cannot carry her control zone with her except for her ult. Her strength is bound to the locations with lots of tentacles.

So her fighting outside said zone without her ult is a lot worse for her than other juggernauts. Once she's forced to ult, literally any one lockdown CC (stun/bind/root/snare/suppress/etc) or silence afterwards ruins it. And against a group, she will be forced to ult or die. So then just back out of the pit which now becomes worthless. Or if your team is fed enough, just kill her if you can.

That was your "at the very least" scenario. I recall someone saying she can be cc-locked to death inside her ult. I've found that despite the damage creep, she can still usually survive long enough to get a w or two after the cc (unless youre playing an extremely heavy cc team). And even then her job is done, there is no cc left for her carries.

You don't have to kill her. Just one CC ability and she's now worthless for like the next 40-60 something seconds her ult is down. Back out of said pit or at least the majority of the tentacles' range and she offers nothing outside of hoping to land an E.

probably too strong for a champion so one-dimensional

she's a weak design who I don't think will ever be properly balanced without bigger changes

"too strong" PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT.

nice argument

he asked for an opinion, not childish "PFFFFFFFFT" like you've been doing to every post you disagree with

? It still is an opinion. It's an opinion that yours is a joke.

I offered my opinion on Illaoi herself separately in a different reply.

She isn't imbalanced, but she is far and away the champion I despise lane-ing against. I'd rather lose a hard fought game than win while lane-ing against an Illaoi.

And part of that is her design. She changes the lane to be a mini-game around her tentacles, which is infuriating, and if you let that get to you that design is tilt inducing.

However, after that point, she's not all that strong. She's a juggernaut, so, she is tanky and deals ridiculous damage, but, mostly she only does that in the zone of her ultimate. The first rule of fighting against an Illaoi: don't fight in her ultimate. She'll win in there. And, in most team comps that's really all that's needed to beat her, disengage. If you move the fight outside of her ultimate then suddenly her usefulness drops dramatically. This makes her fairly strong against newer players who aren't quite up to the task of dodging all of her skill shots and don't realize there are times to just turn tail and run for better positioning. But, once you learn her play style it's just obvious what you should be doing to counter her.

Though, I do feel sorry for all those guys who get stuck in a team comp where one or two of your teammates keep trying to fight her head on despite all your attempts to get them to back off and not do that. You're probably going to lose those games. Sorry, it can't be helped.
