Some combination of nerfs to him and people complaining about sated devourer overshadowed the circlejerk.

He doesn't get to use his ult randomly anymore due to the extra 100 mana cost, that's a good pointer.

He got nerfed really hard, and is now one of the lowest winrate mid laners at about 42%, the only one lower is

His ult has a mana cost now, which it should have had in the first place.

He also got mana costs increased so now he HAS to build a mana item first if you bully too much in lane.

They also lowered his base damage AND his scaling on his Q.

He's not weak, he just needs items now to do more damage.

He wasn't nerfed "hard" he just got nerfed which screwed up peoples playstyles for him, give it time he will rise back up when people get over the nerf his ult got.
