Lux is now one of the only mages that cannot clear the caster minions with one ability.

As of patch 6.22 Riot changed minions health so the ranged minions have less health but deal more damage and vice versa for melee minions. This was a nice little buff for mages since they could clear the back line with one ability instead of 2 so they can use the rest of their abilities and autos to clear out the melee minions instead of having to use them on 10 hp casters.

Lets take a look at the win rate changes of mages before (patch 6.21) and after (patch 6.22) this change with the help of champion.gg

Ahri - 52.46% to 53.89% = 1.43% increase

Brand - 51.56% to 53.57% = 2.01% increase

Syndra - 48.94% to 51.77% = 2.83% increase

Xerath - 51.61% to 53.07% = 1.47% increase

Ziggs - 53.01% to 54.55% = 1.54% increase

These are all mages who want to clear the back line with 1 ability. Notice a pretty big win rate increases? Well lets look at Lux now.

Lux - 50.22% to 50.68% = .46% increase

For reference Elementalist Lux came out in patch 6.23 not 6.22 so its doesn't affect this information in any way.

You can make the argument that the assassin rework increased all these champions win rates due to people trying out the new assassins and failing, but if every other mage saw that big of a win rate increase then why didn't Lux? If anything Lux does just as well if not better than most of the champions listed above against assassins due to her shield + snare for peel, long range, and early game harass with her passive.

This information is concerning and should be looked into more. Lux deserves a 10-20 base damage increase to her E, even if it means she loses the damage somewhere else in her kit.

I think you are right. Back when lux was 53%-58% win rate we could clear caster waves wtih one E proc easy. After quickly pushing lane you could roam and get into range of a lux ulti to top or bot lane or the jungle. Early kill with R would net you a signifigant lead to snowball on.

Lux is a dangerous one to alter, but I can definitely see taking some damage from her passive and placing it on her E. It would be a nerf to her q/r follow-up in return in addition..

Idk.. balance is hard.

You can't buff her E damage though. It's big enough to hit the entire wave and has a long range, the price is a high mana cost and not the highest base damage.

Taking it away somewhere else would just break her. The E needs to be in this state imo
