FIddle NEEDS a rework

I think fiddle is "braindead" he has a point and click fear (q), dps life drain that heals him, which is also point and click (w) he has a point and click SILENCE that bounces to multiple targets (e) and he has an AOE point and click ultimate ability. Riot how can you make a champion that takes 0 skill to play?

Fiddle is almost everything that got Sona gutted but worse.

High-damage multi-target point and click poke? Fiddle has that, except with a Silence and more damage and half the mana cost. Too much sustain? His W makes him nearly impossible to poke out of lane, and, while it costs more mana, restores way more health per second and health per point of mana than Sona's W (to be fair, though, it doesn't affect his ally. Not much of a compensation though). Too impactful of an ultimate? Lmfao his is several times the damage of Sona's, even less interactive, way larger an area...Just misses the stun. Point and click CC? Fucking Fiddle has that but better. Too oppressive in lane due to the above? Lmfao Fiddle is billions of times worse. At least Sona will die quickly. At least Sona has a shorter effective range. At least Sona runs out of mana. Fiddle has none of these weaknesses. The only way to kill him is to surprise him at range (so that E bounce doesn't kill you) with three or more people who all have GW.

Better gut all champions with unavoidable ranged hard CC. Polymorph, Monsoon, Nether Grasp, Frozen Tomb, Wild Growth, Runic Prison, Twisted Advance, Assault and Battery, Depth Charge, Crescent Guard.

Note how two of those abilities are on the same champion.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

It's not just that, it's that plus everything else.

Fiddle's Q makes him impossible to dive onto as one person, while the rest of his kit makes him nearly impossible to poke down or kill as a group.

Lulu might have lots of point and click CC and shit, but she has no sustain, so it's very much possible to poke her down, and she doesn't massacre you with her E if you fight her 2v1 - the worst she does is get away after blowing ult. Same for Janna, except she has less poke damage.

None of those have point and click high damage poke and sustain and point and click hard CC and large AoE/multi-target damage. Only Fiddle has all of those.

Alzon3 votes

None of them have to stand in one place to get any value out of any their abilities. No one in bot lane is ever away from the minions unless someone’s running from a gank. Fear is very powerful versus one target. If Fiddlesticks maxes it, he loses out on being able to survive all-ins with Drain. Either way, Lulu will beat him in a short trade. His abilities are also very expensive, and he has to be just as careful of spamming them as Nami does with Ebb and Flow.

What really makes Fiddlesticks support so powerful, IMO, is the fact that he gets vision control as one of the champions in the game who depend on it the most.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

"His abilities are expensive"

Sure. His drain, okay. That gets expensive at later ranks.

But he doesn't need to max it first to out-sustain most of your poke anyways, all he needs is the minion wave generally in his favor. And his E still takes way too little mana while offering nearly no counterplay in lane.

Also what Fiddle has to max Fear first? You don't need it maxed first. Just spam E on the enemy casters and it'll bounce on the enemy botlane for you, and you just use W to sustain past the little poke you take from the enemy ADC in the meantime (because the support sure as hell won't be able to retaliate - you silenced them).

Jmman4 votes

your crazy. he has some of the highest mana cost in the game. 70 mana for 60 damage. lvl 1 crows. The nerf to mana regen. What game are you playing.

Sure I play fiddle but I have never lost against one as a support either. because I know the champ and how to beat him.

Look at his lcs record as support. its like 2 wins with 10 loses.

I hear man I don't know what to do so QQQQQ instead of playing him and learning him. Why do people push without sight of him? I don't know man there are a lot more op champs than fiddle. its just you expect him to be weak or don't understand how he does damage. YOu can just buy 2 pots and run him oom first trip back.

Come on please learn the freaking champ because you QQQQ first.

Alzon1 votes

Good ol Yorick psychology :)

Jmman2 votes

Well I have no idea what his means. because I don't really think Yorick has counters or weakness like fiddle. Just try playing fiddle into a Sivir Morgana Nami Nocturne Alistar Leona Hecarim Olaf

I was referring to how few people know what he does and therefore have no idea how to play against him.

Jmman1 votes

lol yea that would be me because I never top. I just never full engage him unless I ult in.

twidledidle1 votes

i do know how to play against him, but when he gets CDR and MANA late game, there is nothing you can do when hes jungle and they have a fucking alistar support, you are in an endless cycle, even with mercs and tenacity runes it never ends 0w0

i can only play one of those champs and its olaf because im a top laner tank/bruiser

Literally every jungler can be super dangerous if you don’t have sight or knowledge of where they are. Learn to get vision.

Fiddle’s ultimate also is literally just damage. It has no crowd control, no tricks, and requires fiddle to put himself at huge risk. So it had better have decent damage. If it didn’t it would not worth using.

LOL BOI!! This walking stick man guzzles the hell out of mana faster than anyone else.

Jmman4 votes

Let me get this right.

49.71% win rate, tier 3, ranked 17 in support (behind lux)

and you think he is braindead and op????? ROFL

Let me guess all your great skills should be causing him to instantly die. Sure don't look if he is a counter to your champ. No don't ban him. Sub-par win rate but Zilean 52.50% win rate, Alistar 51.99%, Nami 51.42 are balance right?

Have you play fiddle? Because if you did you would understand that these mobile champs animations eat the fear. How many games do you have on fiddle? So Nonbrain dead play is spamming your abilities as fast as you can right? instead of balancing mana/hp, position, timing, vision control, etc etc.

Your clueless and that is why he will beat you every time. You rather QQ about an average to below average champ than to learn him. I don't think I have every lost to a fiddle support. WHY? because I know where to ward. What not to do. and when to punish the poke. And how to punish him depending on what he levels first. But sadly a QQ is easier than playing / watching some games on him.

https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/zilean/diamond

Fiddle in Diamond tier has almost 53% win rate with 6% pick rate, zilean 50,5% with 4% pick rate. In lower divisions zilean probably is better but fiddlesticks even in gold has legit pick rate, win rate and ban rate as he has win rate above 50% according to league of graphs and champion.gg.

I can admit that nami is broken, there is no doubt about that, alistar is also really strong, maybe even zilean though it changes a bit in Diamond, but they don't need rework, if they need anything, they need nerfs. However, fiddlesticks is not weak either, aspecially in higher divisions and even if we agree that he is ballanced, the problem still will be that he has strong point and click CC that is impossible to dodge.

I don't want to nerf him, I want to rework him and if in your opinion he is weak, then you should agree for rework even more. The post was about him being lets say "brainless", not about him being ultra op.

Jmman1 votes

Or you can take an average of all the site from plat +. But instead picking the one with the highest then upping it to all roles and diamonds to try and prove your point. Then this data after the current nerf for before included.

https://champion.gg/champion/Fiddlesticks/Support here is after the nerf patch to now. This doesn't include data before the nerf like yours does.

No my opinion is not that he is weak. Its he is average with ok good counter play. They problem is people don't know the control play style and QQ.

op.gg is the above info. You know where the best players play. http://na.op.gg/champion/fiddlesticks/statistics/support (over up over night because they are always updated..... unlike your link)

Maybe make it so when his e bounces on champs it deals less damage per bouce on the same champ. So if it bounces between both bot laners it will deal reduced damage per bounce, by making it only for champs you nerf his lane poke (but maybe also his damage as a jungler when he ganks bot or counter ganks mid/top) while also keeping the damage of his e the same on minions and monsters so he can jungle the same.

Elite4Runner3 votes

My biggest complaint about his E is that it can bounce to targets that Fiddle DOESN'T HAVE VISION OF. That shouldn't be allowed.

BachelorWho2 votes

Literally every skill shot does that.

Do you all realize how completely gimped that spell would be if you nerfed it further? It already does a pathetic amount of single-target damage, prioritizes new enemies over already impacted ones, and has a silence of 1.25 seconds. Ooooh! 1.25 seconds! Meanwhile Garen has one sitting at 1.75, Cho silence can hit multiple targets for a minimum silence time of 1.6, And soraka has an AOE silence which can impact multiple enemies which ends with a snare

Take any of fiddles abilities and compare them to equivalents across other champions and you’ll see pros and cons, but there’s really nothing all that overwhelming about it. He shuts down divers and that’s about it. His dueling is mediocre, his survivability is mediocre, and his damage -as support- is piss.

twidledidle1 votes

first off, garens q is nothing compared to fiddle's because with fiddle you can throw it from range and it bounces so it can silence MULTIPLE targets, with cho is the same but you can easily dodge it if you have a gap closer, once you cast the gap closer the silence duration is almost over and you can weave in an auto attack while it wears out, soraka once again, once you walk out of the aoe silence you can cast abilities, no delay, and if you are dumb enough to stay in their long enough for it to root you, you shouldn't be commenting!

Dark Wind is not a skill shot. It is a single-target ability that then automatically targets other units within range, again, EVEN IF FIDDLESTICKS DOES NOT HAVE VISION OF THAT TARGET. As already mentioned, it is a ranged silence at which the first target could be as much as 750 units away. EACH BOUNCE has a range of 450 units. In theory this ability could silence you from 3000 units away. That is Caitlyn's maximum target range for her ultimate at rank 3. Yeah, that is an extremely unlikely range to ever actually come into play, but even the more likely distances that this ability travels is ridiculous.

Putting something in caps doesn’t make it broken and is a pretty useless attempt to make something seem broken. Similarly dark wind can hit one target once in isolation and do a grand total of 60-140 damage max. Which probably makes it one of the worst single target damage spells in the game.

I bet you’re the kind of scrub who would take his buddy by the hand and try to walk up and kill a brand, only to get blown up to the max by his R and his conbo, and then make a rage post in the forums. Every champ has strengths and weaknesses. Figure it out and learn 2 play.

Jmman2 votes

My biggest complain is when he throws a bat at early levels everyone runs back instead of diving him and breaking him in two because that poke is all he has. Then they come to the boards and QQ.

I mean its like after Jihn's 4th shots a minion running back and letting him reload instead of trading while he reloads then backing once he has ammo again. Then complaining about him. (yes his run speed is a bit too high)

Or after brand misses his spells backing and letting them back up so he can stun you.

look a pot heals for 150. for 50 gold. That means 70 a cast in 6 cast he will use 420 mana a be close to or OOM. that means 360 damage. or roughly 2.4 pots will cause him to go oom and you be at full hp.

Just make sure you have 2 pots in with you after you back and he will be useless.

W -> AoE (spreads to the small monsters if it is draining the big one in the jungle) E -> reworked as an anti vision tool

There you go: lane Fiddle is pretty much killed and jungle Fiddle is strong (maybe even broken, depends on the actual effectiveness of the changes).

So you are removing over 33% of his damage be he is now balanced? Have you seen how many champ instantly kill you. Fiddle is not one of them. Lol this thread is sooo funny.

He would hardly be the one killing me, what with me usually being the one picking him and all XD

https://i.imgflip.com/2hdc69.jpg

Though I like playing Fiddle, I don't really like his E: too random, too silly (a scarecrow launching a crow? Like, literally throwing it?).

Removing his E would remove a portion of his damage, true, but making his W AoE in the jungle would make up for the slower clearing, and reworking his E into an anti-vision tool would help set up more successful ults.

It would also weaken his level 2/3 dueling/ganking potential (when the enemy is dumb enough to stand near a creep), but seeing as today pretty much anyone can either outrun or instakill him anyway it's not a huge loss.

I might no longer be able to play him mid, though I'm not so sure about that: in some matchups it is better to max W, thus having his E become an anti-vision tool might actually make him better vs those enemies (by giving him better roaming).

Jmman1 votes

Mint to type instantly. Fixed in above

your crazy if you think he can support mid or jungle without a damaging "e" spell. Zoe only have two damaging spells. Having an immobile mage. With only one source of non-ult damage that is a dot. Then a channeled ult. You just made fiddle unplayable. The reason his "e" is fair is because of the mana cost. All his spells are damage over time. And he has no mobile.

If you were to change his "e" you would have to give fear damage, and add some type of mobile or increase the damage on Drain ALOT.

If your change when through you made fiddle weaker than Janna Lulu Sona Soraka Nami Morgana in damage without any extra utility.

Now if you wanted to change Drain to a Casted Dot. Make Fear and cone/skill shot with damage, Made "E" and vision thing, then changed ult to be castible on allies with refuced damage I can see that. But to change a utility, his only range, farming spell into nothing without any trade off is just crazy talk.

Disulfiram1 votes

{quoted}

You just made fiddle unplayable.

I'm aware of that (I did write "lane Fiddle is pretty much killed", after all), though I disagree on his jungling being destroyed as well: one of Fiddle's weaknesses is being unable to get good ults off when his team doesn't have vision control, thus imho giving him an innate anti-vision tool would actually increase his damage simply by helping him get better ults off.

Besides, I highly doubt that the people who designed item 3147 would allow an anti-vision spell without any kind of damage attached to it.

Make Fear and cone/skill shot with damage, Made "E" and vision thing, then changed ult to be castible on allies with refuced damage I can see that.

CertainT, is that you? :3

No wait, scratch that, CT would also give W a % missing hp scaling on both the heal and the damage. :p

twidledidle1 votes

? fiddle is not the one killing me, he is the one stopping me from casting spells and from moving my character, i have no problem 1v2 him, but in a team fight when you are the tank and you cant peel for your ADC because you are silenced and cant use abilities, and then feared so you are immobilized for an even longer time i think is just not really fair

Jmman2 votes

I can understand that.

But I don't think the issue is the control mage. I think the issue is damage is too high and if you get any type of cc on you your dead. This leaves no room for counter play or defense. Rather Offensive is your only defense. ( fear then instant kill them) If damage was that you would have to land 2 fear and a slow to keep you from saving a carry then here the control mage does seem as powerful.

I guess, I get the problem but I don't think its fiddle. its the damage creep. Like any damage champ and a lot of half damage champs will kill you in one rotation. Then add all the other CC with burst damage. (see fiddle has Damage over time with drain/ult ticks or bounces)

What happens is fiddles fear gets you and allow all the other CC and damage to rain down. Or you jump and fiddles fear/silence stop you for a bit and you died or get zoned out. But once you nerf fiddle any support with CC (ex Leona ) will just be next in line because its not the champ. Its the META that is an issue.

However, if they remade him you know the fear, silence, aoe, healing, and damage would just be one of his spells.

Manes Shade2 votes

Fiddles is one of my Mains. I will discuss him here Ability by Ability passive Dread: Literally useless, never seen it help even once. Should be built in effect for his ultimate.

Terrify

Pros point and click (I would not mind if it got buffed but turned into a skill shot instead of an on click) Impairs(Any form of stun/immobilize/control is amazing)

Cons High Cool down time Low Range (Seriously if you can use it you are too close to survive or they are not targeting you) legit a Yi will always kill you before you can use this Champions can be immune to it pretty easily.

let us Compare his CC to a few others Terrify has 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 2.25 second stun//// Range 575 (Closer than most skill ranges anyways)//// 65 mana makes them flee (sometimes usefull) Morgana has Dark Binding 2, 2.25, 2.50, 2.75, 3.0 Second stun ///// Range 1175 mana cost starts at 50 and climbs by 5 per level maxing out at 70 /// deals damage maxing 300+90% AP Lux has Light Binding 2 second stun Flat //// Range 1175 //// mana starts at 40 climbs by 5 ending at 60 //// hits two targets in a line //// Deals damage 250 +70% AP

To be honest it kind of sucks in comparison, its only bonus is Point and Click, even at that It has a relatively slow animation speed.

Drain

Pros Actually deals damage (fair damage too) heals (Sustain)

Cons Low range. Channeled that can be stopped if they move for a single second in another direction HOLY CRAP you can not spam it because your mana will literally die. Even late game you can not spam it, because you will be useless

Dark Wind(why I actually play Fiddlesticks)

Pros You can poke pretty freely. It can bounce back to the same champions(it is gimmicky though) But if you catch two champs close together you actually deal damage makes you feel great when you land a 3 hit on a champion.

Cons You can not control it, it is just as likely to fizzle out on minions as it is to hit champions. Mana cost, it does drain your mana pretty harshly if just spammed If there is only a single enemy you could literally write this skill off as useless especially with only a 750 target range. I have never seen the silence help. Even once. It does almost no damage AND they recently nerfed its damage.

Crowstorm

Pros Damage is at least mediocre! Fiddles passive will activate! It will clear a grouping of champs like none other! Blink can throw people off (only 800 distance though, kinds sucks but workable) It is fun Caw Caw!

Cons It has a very small Radius (.5 seconds for people to get out of it) It is the only time Fiddles passive will ever activate! It has a channel time! so you may not even hit anyone! Damage is gimmicky as people usually leave the radius very fast! Slower damage than other AOE Damage Over Time Ultis (have you seen Miss Fortunes?) You literally have to be right next to your opponents. It is literally Amumu's E with a time Limit and a blink, but without a damage reduction buff. (of course I almost never run out of mana for amumus anyways)

twidledidle1 votes

this is the only comment that was usefull info, thanks for sharing, what you say about fear is great, but i cant imagine what rework they can make of fiddle, hes just a champ that goes well with CC team fights like amummu and such, but dont you think they can take out ONE ability from his kit? because it really is just point and click, with fear it doesnt matter if you get close because you throw your silence from a farther away distance, and if they are still chasing you can easily stop them by q and they cant follow up with any gap closers because once again they are silenced, but your right and i was wrong, fiddle in my opinion is just someone with a lot of CC very squishy and when he wants to be part of the team he'll get inside a team fight, reworks, i have no idea what they can do with this champ without hurting his fundamental value i dont know he seems kind of dumb in my opinion thanks for posting

Lux's and aspecially Morgana's stuns are slow skill shots that are easy to dodge in most cases or at least possible to dodge with high mobility, dashes, flash or prediction. 575 range is greater than aa range for almost every champion so how is that "close range".

His W is channel but you and probably your adc have ccs that can help hold enemies in it, the same goes with ult, but for this you will have probably all your teammates or at least some of them to help you stop the enemies. Plus to stop his W you have to waist cc on him or run, giving enemy adc on the lane chance to focus you and win the trade easly.

His E is almost never useless if you are playing on bot lane and even with 1 target you can still stop enemy channel or at least silence him for 1.25 sec which can be vital against some champions.

His passive is kinda useless tho, but it is just to help you with ultimate or to chase the enemy after using W ( as far as I remember it works while W is on).

Before you continue reading this, understand I do not think there is anything wrong with Fiddlesticks, and I can use him well enough(atleast in my opinion...) Those were just the honest Pros and cons of his abilities

Yeah Terrify's range is Larger than or tied with about 50% of the adcs AA range, but compare it to all of their skills as well, almost all of them have a skill poke from a much longer distance. usually their poke can be targeted too(Unlike Fiddlesticks poke) or even just point and click pokes.

Now do not get me wrong I am not saying I dislike the terrify ability, I am just saying it literally falls short in almost every situation other than stopping some one from charging right at you or your adc. Even at that there are often skills used to counter it, Like Vi's Vault Breaker, Yi's Alpha Strike(you literally can not win this trade off without a Zonhya's), Warwick's Infinite duress, heck anyone rocking a Banshee's Veil is tough cookies.

My opinion is that Terrify is a short range ability and it's utility is often undermined because it is just that 25 short of what I often need it to be. Comparing it to to auto attack range is just like Potatoes to Tomatoes. Auto attack is a free poke at that, and it causes damage. And yeah being able to dodge Morgana's and Lux's ability is a con to them, but unless you predict them perfectly, and are within 575 range, you are not going to dodge their stuns, the skill moves just fast enough that it is literally almost impossible.

Honestly now that I am really looking at it, In comparison to almost every other stun/similiar ability, Terrify is vastly under powered in all regards and the only reason it is able to stand at all is the Point and Click.

Side note A melee champion is just screwed when trying to chase Morgana/Lux down because of their stuns, They are an almost "Garen"teed hit with their stuns, and they last long enough, with a short enough cooldown that there is no way to catch them.

( Cooldowns Terrify Lvl 1= 15 and Max level = 11 seconds Morgannas is 11 S, and Lux is 10 S)

Fiddlesticks W deals enough damage that it does push people away, Even if it is channeled, I often find it more than rewarding enough to cast on an opponent's champion that got too close. But for the ease at which a good player can shut it off the cost is a little high.

And I never said his E was useless bottom lane, It is very useful bottom lane and I play quite successfully with it, But you can not deny that if there is only one enemy it is a complete joke and I only ever use it because the only thing worse that I could do is attack with Fiddlesticks AA(Not that he needs a strong AA).

It is not an argument. Actually, non of these are. Every champion can make a lot of builds and adapt their game to the situation but it doesn't change the fact, that some of them are still "brainded" compared to the others.
