Why is Aatrox getting banned every game? Who the hell played him?

Out of nowhere, 80% of my games have an Aatrox ban. It doesn't effect me and I really couldn't care less, I'm just curious as to why he's getting banned so often. Is he broken? What the hell happened?

Fact: There isn't a single thing you can say in game that is worse than Inting/AFKing/Trolling.
