I would like your opinion on his current situation.

May i also suggest this: A gold passive to make him independent from Jungle item.

What is your opinion on his current situation? Are you feeling like he's too weak, too strong, out of place, etc. Reds can talk all day about what they think but its more valuable to them to know what the playerbase thinks, and gives them a direction to respond to.
Gold passives have historically been either nerfed or removed altogether (Ashe, etc) because they are surprisingly strong but difficult to appreciate. Further, Fiddlesticks isn't really any more or less item dependent than any average Champion. And with his Silence/Fear, he can be extremely effective when played well even without a lot of items. So I don't think that a gold generation passive is what he would need if you feel he's weak in some way.

I do agree with you about how strong he is. But if you misuse his silence/fear just once, in a duel you are pretty much screwed. Also, due to the new AD boosting items/ nerf to armor, he cant really duel now a days. if he is winning a trade, they can just run away as his MS is really low 335. Also, not having 20% CD early really puts fiddle in a really bad possession.

I am a silver player steadily climbing, just promoted to silver 2. I have 120 games with fiddle in ranked alone, even more in normal. After the change to the AP jungle item, I couldn't really do anything with fiddle, it became frustrating, I am always behind unless someone on the other team makes a mistake and I get some gold out of it.

So I quit fiddle all together, I now only jungle and supp with Sion, and mid+top with malzhar/Sion. I was able to do all that with fiddle until the tether nurf. then after the jungle nurf, I just couldn't bear playing fiddle, Even when I am winning, it feels more like the other teams fault than my skill.

Personally, I don't think Fiddle even needs a Jungle item. Prior to the major Jungle changes with the Machete items it was actually quite common to just start with a book + pots and just Drain your way through the Jungle.

Problems with gold generation? Fine, just buy the first upgrade so you get the extra gold, but no reason to build it up from there. Get a Stalkers blade so you can slow enemies after you fear/silence them, or to keep them in range of your Ult. But then go for your AP items instead. It is true that he doesn't really benefit from the current Runeglaive; so don't build it.

Or, go Cinderhulk. Fiddle has fairly low AP ratios, actually, but his base damage is good. he gets natural MPen with his passive, and if you run a Penetration build (runes + Sorc shoes, Guise, Scepter) means Fiddle can still deal a good amount of damage but can build more on the tankier side. And Cinderhulk's burn works well with Fiddle's existing AoE damage.

Either way, the first item most people build is an hourglass anyway - lots of AP just in that item alone. Build some HP and an Abyssal and you have HP, Armor, MR and actually quite a lot of damage. A late game liandrys out of an early Guise adds burn to your Drain/ult which also adds to his play patterns.

Don't let one item change get you down - make the items work for you. Just because he doesn't use Runeglaive to the best of its ability doesn't mean he's useless.

I see your point there, it makes me feel that I was looking at the empty half of the glass.

You also got a good idea for a strategy. I will go at trying to find the best way around this in a good number of normal games before hitting ranked.

that passive is interesting. Have you tried starting Doran's Ring and mana pots? You obviously don't need health pots idk why they even suggest them.

With pots and Doran's you only really ever have to back when you want to, which helps compensate for the additional gold provided by machete. Then you don't waste 1300 on the worthless smite upgrade, and more worthless once you pay for runeglaive. No, by the time you could buy the machete upgrade you can almost afford a NLR.
