How to Learn Wave Manipulation

I am a low silver player and am trying to learn the game and improve macro. Are there any tips on how to understand what the minion wave is going to do and how to control it? Also going off that, are there any tips that you higher ranked players who are actually good at the game have for when to use these different strategies?

Use the map, figure out which side the jg started and freeze the wave if u want to setup a gank, push the wave if u need to recall and or if you kill ur laners. Look for roams if ur lane is pushed.
