People Say That New Champions/Reworks Should Be Banned From Ranked...

But the problem is, where are you supposed to get gametime in with these champions? In blind, you are not likely to get said champion unless u have god tier internet speed and your league client doesn't lag (like mine does). In normal draft, for some reason, everyone still bans akali but if they don't ban it, if you aren't first pick, someone else is most definitely going to pick it.

So honestly, ranked ends up being the most likely environment you can play said champions in, as they are banned less bc people are more worried about op/cancerous champions, and they aren't picked bc no one wants to get flamed for picking said new champion.

Now, I am not necessarily advocating first timing new champ/reworks in ranked, because I too cringe when i get into a ranked lobby and someone hovers akali with few to no games on the champion. But, throughout today and yesterday, I have went through several queues to get Akali and only was able to get her twice, and unluckily i had to duo top with her just to play her the second time.

This is where teambuilder or some iteration of it would really come in handy. I'd much rather wait 30 minutes to play the champ i want to play/practice, than have to spend 30 minutes playing someone I didn't really wanna play in the first place.
