So um Fiddlesticks?

SpongebobIsLife··81 votes·4,535 views

Was Fiddlesticks not considered when the jungle was reworked? Because now his e is completely useless and his clear is terrible. I'd recommend either extra bounces on monsters that decreases in damage per bounce, or just straight up buff the damage one bounce does to each monster. I'm not really a fiddlesticks player, but I know he is suffering big time right now.

honestly he should be made viable in a lane or something, his jungle gets worse and worse by every patch and riot should just make him viable in lane since they wont consider helping him in the jungle

PureSilvrr2 votes

Fiddle laning is spam E until your ult comes, then ult from over the mid lane walls(or a bush if oyur top or bot) and try to get a kill I only use W for sustain in lane, and q for some cc/combo with w if I ever use it/escape from ganks

Schoenberg2 votes

Whenever I hit 6 on fiddle, bot lane better prepare themselves.

He is a SUPER viable support right now with Colossus. ;)

Depárt25 votes

He's a god awful support please don't encourage that

Xonra2 votes

What this guy said.

Please disregard the above and do not Fid support if you want to win in anything above bronze 5

ShaolinToilet15 votes

He is played support 13 percent in platinum and above you meta sheep.

Xonra1 votes

"You meta sheep" lol

Get out of here with that mess and your wrong stats. "13 % played in plat" lol no he isn't.

He isn't played 13% in any role but people testing him in jungle in any rank.

He is played as a support 13% of the time and somehow his support win rate is much higher than his jungle. That's what the person is probably referring to

Big Lincoln4 votes

1.24% pick rate in the jungle

0.23% as support

not really surprising the winrate is higher for support

Potent Rodent1 votes

Tbh I play him as a support and all your job really is is to harass with E, Disengage with q, or sustain with W

dark100dark1001 votes

And die.

He is a bad support, by the time his e reaches the target he is dead. His w makes him an easy target. His q has no range.

Potent Rodent1 votes

*Notices comment, Realized that I forgot to mention to pick him against an engage heavy comp.

Doseqis4 votes

I play Fid support sometimes, his poke is honestly really good if they have a weaker lane that doesn't have sustain.

Xonra2 votes

I would thank the heavens above if someone picked fid support against me. Not even gonna lie. I would just play super aggro all lane

Muddafragot7 votes

If they have a weaker lane, yeah, anything is good in a lane if the enemy is weaker than it. You'd have to put effort into being weaker than a fiddle support.

when they buffed his crow bounces a wile back he could mid, then the crow bounces got nerfed.

Awww, but I like JG fiddle and his ultimate is better as a ganking tool than in lane. Otherwise he basically has no ultimate because no one just stands there when they see you channeling it.

One easy fix is let crows bounce off Fiddle himself, but only at very close targets (or only JG camps, either way). It may have already done this in the past before he was nerfed a dozen times. Can't remember.

Elite4Runner8 votes

Literally the only champion who I want to see nerfed into the ground lol.

I have an irrational hatred of Fiddlesticks. And honestly, I completely know that it is irrational, but fuck him!

There are too many champs for Riot to properly care about all of them.

Fiddlesticks has for a long time been in the pool of champs Riot just doesn't care about. Currently he is accompanied by Tryndamere, Urgot, Warwick, Cho Gath, um... idk, there's actually quiet a few. Their kits are just so old and have nothing to do with Riot's current design philosophies.

And until these champs get full scale reworks, they're not going to care. So if you main these champs, sucks to be you. I'm sorry.

SpongebobIsLife3 votes

I mean he was doing pretty good before this pre season. yeah there were times where he was pretty bad, but it was less because he was bad and more because the items or jungle didn't favor him. And compared to those guys, I think Fidds is in a much better spot.

Pommel Knight7 votes

Make his e bounce off of him like ryzes old e. Problem solved.

RavenMagus2 votes

That doesn't really solve his problems. He's absolutely fine against the single target buff camps. It's things like the new raptors or krugs that he suffers with now - his E has a super long cooldown which makes it hard to deal with Krug splits, and there's actually just too many Raptors for Dark Wind to kill.

edit: Also taking scuttles is still horrifying on Fiddles, but that's not new to this season.

Terchio1 votes

No single-target champion likes those two camps. I think that was the point, last season was all about single-target shred. Those camps need some love, in my opinion, especially those Krugs. The animation times on them is nearly as long as you want to take in clearing them in the first place. I sense Tiamat getting tossed around this season a lot, too.

RavenMagus1 votes

Yeah, but bouncing Dark Wind off himself does absolutely nothing against anything except the single target camps, which Fiddles is already good at. So the person's suggestion I responded to does basically nothing to help him clear the jungle faster. :P

Terchio1 votes

That's true. It's just hard to single out Fiddles as oppressed when basically the whole single-target jungle crew from last season has been lynched. I feel bad for the Warwicks out there, especially.

00 Great Dane4 votes

People are pathing incorrectly with him and other champs that have a lot of single target damage over AoE.

Blue > Gromp > Wolves > Red > Scuttle/Gank

Red > Wolves > Blue > Gromp > Scuttle/Gank

You don't do Krugs or Raptors until your first back.

I don't understand why people say he's not good support. He's got a great kit to be annoying as hell. He's got anti-all-in with a silence and a fear. His E is solid poke to hurt at a distance. He sustains well with his drain. And late game he bring phenomenal damage as a second AP carry. Not sure how that's a bad thing.

Leon Etoile3 votes

It's b/c you can't control his E which means you can't control the wave.

TotalJerk2 votes

His E and Q are inconsistent for two reasons: E has a slow flight speed, and Q has a slow cast time. A fast enough assassin or diver can get on top of him before he even gets a chance to connect with either.

EstebanElGuapo1 votes

I assume u mean duration though i'd only agree if the enemy were wearing mercury treads. As for cast time, it is instant or near instant though ur not the only one that i've seen make that comment though maybe both of you meant duration. You can fear any assassin as he jumps on you. Fizz is odd though but at least they fixed the fear bug where u lose the fear cd if you lose lock/target on fear right as it is being cast.

TotalJerk1 votes

It's not instant. There is a very noticable channel time before the fear goes off. You can even see the delay in the preview video here.

EstebanElGuapo1 votes

I don't know where I can find cast times. So that I could compare them. Like for example compare cast time of flash which also isn't instant to fear (edit: supposedly flash is instant since a 2009 patch but remember kobi saying in a game it has a cast time that is low enough that it isn't able to be reacted to by a normal person's reaction timing; though maybe he was referring to a travel time for the blink/teleport effect on cast, if there is one). But then instant is relative because I doubt everyone thinking of the term or using the term or even holding a discussion about spells intends to refer to spells that have no cast time (where does one find stats on cast time) against those that have no meaningful cast times (how does one find the difference to even know). My point is that fear is so quick, that I can't imagine anyone saying it has a long cast time. Yet i've read 2 people now say that. And since it is relative, what the heck are they comparing it against. There are so many truly long cast times (I have no stats on cast times, enlighten me if you find some, I'm referring to highly noticeable delays) on spells that are noticeable that to say fear is one seems incorrect to me. There is an animation that gives it away true, but there is no 'travel time' and it is about as fast as one could hope and i've never felt the need for it to be faster of all the complaints bout the champ that I have played for years, that fear is too slow has never been one. If i could get riot to do any number of things to fiddle as a personal favor to me. speeding up fear cast time would never have crossed my mind. Thats why I made the comment. Its truly odd to see it 2 times now as a downside of fiddle. Fiddle has true downsides. This isn't one.

p.s. i play fiddle pretty much exclusively and even if I play him due to lack of deep knowledge in other champs and desire to avoid all the flames that rain down from lol community consistently anytime you try to learn a new champ; I do and have and will pick him mid against assassins because assassins are countered by fiddle. I pick him support over morg for same reason. The fear is assassin counter as support. For the same reason but opposite findings that you mention. You can relatively instantly fear an assassin who dives your adc. I do it all the time. I have to this is the only champion I play; though I only bother with that when playing peel tanky jungle or support or peel tanky top otherwise im ulting the backline most of the time.

Earl Eulrich2 votes

yea, also got a little surprised by this when i tried jungle him the first time in the new patch...he really could use some bonus dmg vs monsters on his w to make up for the lost e in the jungle, it really slowed him down hard.

ForRift2 votes

fiddle works pretty well mid if you cant jg. (HINT MAX E)

Primaquarius2 votes

I remember Fiddlesticks was the very first champion I ever played when starting League, and I loved how much damage/CC he was able to do.

Now I can't recognize a Fiddlesticks from the minions around him while playing an actual Mage carry...

Fiddle was the only champ to recieve a nerf in the mage update. Prio to that, he recieved a total of 14 consecutive nerfs during 1.5 years. Take one fucking guess if Riot cares.

Meep Man1 votes

He received a nerf that wasn't also with a buff in the mage update?

i'll give it a try and see how it goes, but if you have a Fiddle in the jungle, somewhere else has to be a melee support or Mid

Pretty sure he is getting a full rework in coming months. But I agree he is trash tier in Jg right now. I see many people say he would be a better support which I think would work out.

dont think so, warwick is up, then galio

Hope they do not mess with him any further. unless its minor adjustments, but prefer they stop rekitting people. Or stop rekitting everyone. They can't stop changing absolutely every champ, item and game attribute that exists constantly.

Leo10241 votes

just saw a post and meddler said in the comments that they're looking to change him in patch 6.24

Shadowkirby141 votes

But the question is that what if these changes only made things worse or none at all? What then? If they buff him by either increasing the damage on his E or giving it extra bounces, he'll be banned 100% of the time.

Remember when in Patch 6.9 his E was buffed and his winrate skyrocketed? Welp, 6.10 came and nerfed him right after that. Fiddlesticks didn't even last one patch and already he receives a nerf. Buffing him will make him too powerful, nerfing him will make him too weak.

There's no actual between unless you've played him a thousand times and, somehow, learn how to use him in your thousand-and-first time.

deadlychuck1 votes

Naw, i feel like reduced damage to monsters, with a small AoE effect on the E would work better.

It would also be a slight buff to fiddle's wave clear, as the AoE could be slightly larger than a minion, (think Taliyah Q
