I need to get better at laning.

I just started to play ranked and I've gotten murdered in lane 4 games in a row. What are some champions that are really good for laning (top or mid)? I really need some Champs to get better at it with. Advice or tips on laning would be appreciated as well.

  1. what rank are you - different ranks have different strategies based on how shit your teammates and opponents may be. Worry less about whether or not they are good at the game, when I say shit I mean like literal shit human beings who do bad things just to do them.

  2. what kind of champs do you like? If you learn how to use this you may find champs connected to champs you like that will fit your playstyle in multiple lanes. For example, mage players tend to enjoy playing irelia in toplane.

3. Work on your csing

  1. Work out what you'll do if you can't cs, its different for different champs

  2. work on wave control which goes back to csing

  3. read #3

  4. fuck your opinion read #3 again

  5. No, I don't care how good you already think you are, if you are getting less than max cs every round then #3 again and if you are merely getting max cs #3 anyways! Its possible to get above max on some champs and against some champs!

  6. Ahri is hawt and is the center of the universe, no bias whatsoever #AhriFancultBanner

  7. learn synergies, vi + ahri for example. But then there's also items.

  8. Learn when to build for the team and when not to. If you are playing an AP midlaner and your toplaner is vlad do you want an abyssal or a rod of ages for defense against an enemy mage?

  9. learn about different champs and their matchups. Know if you expect your teammate to lose lane before he does it

  10. learn how jungling ACTUALLY works

  11. Learn why lanes are the way they are. Its not a coincidence you always do the same setup, don't be that shitter that can't say why 2 mid is a bad idea. Cant break the meta or argue against breaking the meta if you don't understand the meta

  12. learn how to play while behind or ahead

  13. know the worth of objectives

  14. learn how to splitpush

  15. learn how to slow push

  16. learn about proxypushing

  17. keep up with the meta or anything else that helps you understand opponents

  18. ADJUST YOUR GAMEPLAY SETTINGS IN CUSTOM GAMES FOR MAXIMUM STABLE FPS!!!

  19. change useless computer settings if you are able to further help with fps

  20. learn how to teamfight, aram will not really teach you how to teamfight on summoners rift (normal map) but it will help you exercise your basic judgement skills which is a good start

  21. watch youtube to see how well pros do at everything you do. Don't try to copy them, you will likely just fail for reasons you won't even understand. What's important here is understanding your strengths and weaknesses on a particular champ after gaining a realistic standard which more or less just goes back to #3.

  22. Don't be toxic just to be toxic.

  23. learn when and where to do other people's jobs for them and how to go about it on any given champ

  24. whenever you are seeking help always be as specific as you can about the intended matchup and strategy or else you will just get some "dodge the spears" bullshit answer

  25. learn just how hard you are screwing yourself by not taking #3 seriously. Before buffs missing half the cs could cost you like half an item or more. Now the minions are worth even more.

  26. keep up with updates, always watch champion spotlights

  27. specialize in something, anything. Learn a small number of champs no matter how big your champion pool gets. Master these and translate what you learn to the other champs so you can get better at the game instead of focusing on getting better at the champs

Alright, you have any champs you'd recommend for the lane phase? Or tips in general, especially for mid.

Champions are based on the Meta, need to keep picking up and dropping them as the game changes.

tal, ryze, malz, vlads not bad either. When you are in lane phase you need to be able to cs very well since you items are your power spikes and look to get level 6 first since at that point you can zone the enemy out of the cs if you hit 6 before hand. You can always freeze the wave right before your tower causing the other mid to either over extend to get farm or you can put a lot of pressure by walking to him if you are ahead. As a mid laner you have one of the best roams in the game since you are able to go bot or top so if you are going to roam remember to set up the wave so its either pushing or already pushed and about to reset.there are certain spots where pink wards should go, you could just put it in a side brush but if you put it in the rivers side brush you can get much more out of the pink ward. mid has the most potential to gank since there are a lot more ways to get to you since you can go over raptor wall and get behind you so warding around is very good to do too. You will have to learn the match ups for yourself such as it would be bad to take people like ziggs into a zed lane since ziggs will have a harder time dealing with an assassin but at that point its just preference if you are doing that. any questions?

If you play mid and want to dumpster the enemy while laning, pick Annie

My favorite is Sion top since you can sit just outside of the enemies range and hit them with your QW and E since they have a long range, and since he's tanky its hard for him to die. If you want more of a juggernaut pick you could take Darius or Illaoi since they have great zoning. I don't play mid nearly as often but Annie is well known as being a safe pick.
