@Meddler Context behind the Gunblade changes on PBE?

3/8 PBE Update: Aurelion Sol, Meowkai, Draven Draven, Urf Kench, Definitely Not Vel'Koz, LCU Pre-Alpha test, and more!

In today's patch the Gunblade changes were removed but they were:

** Hextech Gunblade**

Unique active:
  • Renamed to "Capture Bolt"

  • Notes it the active shares a cooldown with other Bolt items.

  • Damage increased to 200 from 150.

Any reason into why changes to the item in the first place? Seems random, but it looks like they could be introducing new items with the same active, since there is currently no item that has an active named 'Capture Bolt'.

That's a bit of an oops on our part, that wasn't intended to go to the PBE (should have been an internal test environment only, at least for now). We're experimenting with possible AP item changes for the mid year patch that will include the mage updates amongst other things. As part of that experimentation we're investigating possible changes to Revolver, WotA and Gunblade.

The active name is 'Capture Bolt', but the keyword it actually uses is 'Bolt'. So anything with 'Bolt' in the active name will share a cooldown with it... though I don't know if there are any current 'Bolt' items to begin with, so that's probably just semantics.

I think the other "Bolt" items might be item 3144 & item 3153 . But that is just a guess on my part.

@meddler can you finally make spellvamp and deaths dance work on aoe on champions.....? its such a noob trap on characters like varus for example. minion sustain is toxic and unsatisfying anyway. Just give us functional combat spellvamp on someone not Cassiopeia and vlad
