People who are happy with changes don't say anything about them, or very rarely say anything about them I should say. If you are liking them, enjoy them, but you will ALWAYS be in a minority of liking things on a forums of any kind because people don't come to places like this to say they are happy with things.
i mean i love the damage change been sayin they need to do more damage for almost 2 years but maybe a little less gold or dont drop 100% of the towers deference maybe 90%
The changes are great but you gotta be careful. The Silver army prowls the boards looking to babyrage at anything they can.
The armor is great, the gold is not. I remember tons of people asking for beefier turrets, I don't know anybody asking that they give more gold. I say keep the shielding but ditch the gold gained from it as it reinforces snowballing. Also I would not think it would be bad to leave the shields up the whole game. Late game turrets fall in 1 second.
I think it's a great change, but it could use some fine-tuning. The plates give too much gold, and the turrets across the map still die too quickly.
Turret plating is good, but towers are literally about 2x easier to kill for the Outers after 14 minutes. It basically forces a laning phase in the most inelegant way possible, towers need multiple pushes to shred through during the early game and are hard and take time to take down, then suddenly they're glass. And middle/inner turrets are the same except some more AD, so they also fall fast but reward stalling a bit.
Like they need to expand on what they did and find a way to make turret plating more relevant, maybe make it permanent or when they vanish they add some hp to your tower as a reward.
Or if Riot likes easy solutions, don't make them have 0 AR/MR. Just give them something even if it means cutting back on the plates, every champion does true damage to outer towers and it pretty much makes defending them pointless wheras the game had strategy baked into things like the important of defending mid tower in earlier seasons because you could actually stall and keep it up.
I'm overall somewhat happy with the tower changes. I think Riot needs to tone down the amount of gold given from the plating and then people will recieve it better.
Idea is good, execution was complete shit.
I think this post would be more effective if you'd talk about why you like the changes. It's good to explain your side rather than just say it exists.
Reduce the gold gained from destroying each plates to about 80-100 gold, then I'll be happy. No one asked for those to be here. All we want is Turrets to be beefier, that's really it.
the changes were in the right direction but they needed straight up buffs, no compensation. Towers are still complete garbage and does nothing to protect you or itself.
Thats because you have no idea whats healthy for a game
I LL Explain you in 3 diff ways why the Riot change sucks
ANY NONE TRASH LOGICAL LEAGUE PLAYER IS NOT OBLIVIOUS IN A NOTION THAT BALANCE AND LIVE DESIGN TEAMS ARE HORRENDOUS
I really do enjoy the new tower armor mechanic, I just think they may need to tone down how much gold each piece of armor gives.
im with you dude i like the tower changes
I like the idea, I dont like getting 1200 gold for killing a tower though.
I don't mind the tower changes specifically. I have tons of problems with game pacing and design.
That being said, I feel like a vary dirty person when I so kill my tower in lane. It doesn't feel good to be 1500 gold strong then my opponent cause misstepped once and I drove him, then he stood under tower like a fool and I drove him again. The towers give way too fucking much gold for the amount of snowball that already existed in the laning dynamic.
If it was significantly harder to snowball a lane (cough more wards cough) then I think it would be a rather good dynamic.
The boards will complain about anything. it doesn't matter what state the game is in.
I HATE SEASON 8 BUT I LOVE THE CURRENT PATCH

Nope, a fair amount of people really like the tower changes and it is healthy for the game. Just the other stuff like DH, plating gold, and the other stuff in S8 have people upset.
I like them, I just think they could be a lot better.
Yah, but why the heck do they give gold? It makes no sense and just increases snowball.
I think turret plating is a cool concept. I like it. It doesnt solve the problem with the game right now which is just raw damage overtaking mechanical outplays such as dodging/hitting skillshots. Also it seems almost every new champion HAS to have some mechanic that is just not fun to play against, or is hypermobile. The hyperomegaburst damage is great from a viewer perspective, and therefore their esports success, but the casual player experience in particular is in a miserable state.
If riot just nerfs damage in the right places, adresses overperforming runes, brings some tanks into the meta to slow things down, takes a look at ad itemization (only if necessary, other changes should help ADCs tremendously), then the game will be fine. Baron is alsopossibly too strong. Otherwise, there really isnt many glaring problems. Its basically just too much burst damage and the meta champions are oppressive.
Game is moving in a healthy direction I am very happy with the changes
What i like about the tower changes mostly stem from 1 thing. It punishes failed ganks like how this game used to work in the past.
As a mid laner if i want to gank bot lane i am taking a risk of the enemy mid laner getting free gold from the plating which mean if i roam i HAVE to make sure someone dies in bot lane otherwise the enemy mid will be 160g + farm ahead of me. Before the change people didnt care to stay in lane because they could just push bot early then rotate mid.
I would imagine bot lane probably feels a bit better to play as well because of the roam risk.
