Recently i came back to league due to ARURF and i gotta say,this game has been changed in such a negative way.I dont understand why riot is trying to make games last like 20 minutes ITS A VIDEO GAME MAKE IT LAST LONGER.Games used to be decided at like 35 minutes and now after 5 minutes you can already guess who is the winner and i really dislike that.

Not to mention the new items and champion redesigns,its just not fun anymore...Dont get me wrong i do like some new stuff like hextech protobelt and the new rune system but god damn is it not fun to play against a 3k hp vladimir that can deal 1k+ dmg with a single ability.

Riot please...look at what you are doing to your old players...

Part of me keeps going "Hey, there's an event going on! There's free loot to be had! There's even ARURF! You should play a few matches!"

But the rest of me is just like "Playing League just doesn't sound worth the effort any more. Time to do something else, something more enjoyable."

Considering I started trying to get back into the game just a few patches ago, I think Riot should be worried about retention. When people who take a break from your game don't feel like they can come back it's a bad sign.

I mean I think game companies always are concerned with retention when the mode of play is online multiplayer

I've been playing since the tail end of 2015, and never played a ranked game until the end of season 6.

A through all the meta and all the complaints on the board I haven't even come close to losing interest.

That isn't to say I agree with Riot all the time, but I'm confident issues will be addressed eventually.

But my perspective is quite different from the typical online gamer. I'm realistic about my limitations as a player and the limitations of the solo Q experience.

Ah so you missed out on s4 preseason/s5 when Riot was actually doing good. Also see you started play when dynamic queue was around so basically this subpar ranked experience is all you know.

I have the exact same feeling. It's like "hey limited time event, can get some cool stuff" but then in the same breath I realize that I won't have fun playing the game and that it will make me angry. So I'm not gonna do that to myself.

QED I'm not playing the game like I used to and quite frankly I just don't care about how much cash I sunk into it anymore.

I've been playing since season 2. I've just uninstalled.

Honestly this game has gone completely to the dogs. I love what the lore team is doing and some of the concepts are really good. But the ever increasing non-counter mechanics and "periods of power" is beyond comprehension across the board. I studied computer game design and it's baffling to me why Riot is taking the game mechanics in this direction. The worst part of it all is the game speed.

I came to this from playing RTS games and so obviously I enjoy strategic elements. That has been completely gutted from the game (from a SoloQ standpoint). No longer can I focus on my own development through the course of a game to hit the late game with a build that suits my teamcomp and style. Now it is purely on nailing a good 8 minute laning phase and then it turns into a less fun version of ARAM.

The new runes are absolutely counter intuitive. They are supposed to create a "unique playstyle" for each champion. Wrong. All they do is stat check different playstyles. You cant realistically run grasp as Jax and expect to win. Or conquerer on teemo. It's simply not optimal, so everyone simply takes the optimal keystone for their champion and in rare cases do you have more than 2 viable options.

Before these runes and keystone BS you could customise your playstyle with real stats from the old rune system and I swear by this - I used to have far more diversity in my own playstyle and builds. Now it is purely optimal or you wilt into getting stomped. Absolute garbage. Riot you have destroyed this game with some real backward thinking. Revert the game to season 3 or 4, keep your shiny new graphics and put your resources into lore and cinematic development. Constant changing for the sake of change has left you with a product that isn't fun or intuitive any more. It's a spam fest and ARURF epitomises that. Not onyl do you get a game mode that is typical of modern brainless games, but you can't even choose your champion and you hope the other team doesnt have Yi, Zed, Vlad, Jax, Fizz etc.

What's worse is remember when URF first came out? It was an April Fool's mode and the tag was "the future of league". Well, if you look at all the changes that's been made to the game then this is the longest April Fool's joke I've ever heard of.

Atm The game feels like "Who can out one shot the other" which sucks as some types of champs can't work in a game state like that. Welcome to the League of Assassins where everyone can kill you in under one second other wise they are trash tier.

Riot needs to pull back the damage that everyone can do by a lot, it's just power creep of damage.

I've slowly been losing the passion over the past couple years, but I came into this season with high hopes based on what Riot was promising. Unfortunately they fell short for me personally and I haven't played a game outside of a custom in 2 months or so. Do I like the game? I certainly want to, but no I currently do not like it and I don't see that changing in the near future.

I love play League of Legends. But I don't love ARURF when I want to play a certain champion and after 30 games, I finally get the said champion and someone dodges. Then I only see that champion on the other team now on.

who cares about lore? it doesn't make the actual game more fun. lore doesn't even fit in a game like this it belongs in something like WoW.

most people don’t think the game is fun amymore because it has turned into a CoD killfest leading to a snowball. even LCS and LCK aren’t ennoyable to watch

love playing lucian and ashe hate playing both of them because of the state of the game

Damage is too high because riot had the good idea of: -buffing MR pen and lethality (then reverted the lethality buff but not the mr pen buff) -reduce base mr by not compensating mr runes -buffing tribute damage -buffing base ad -buffing ad spells -introducing ad/ap in new rune system -introduce a shit ton of offensive runes, and making defensive runes so irrelevant

as it stands I cannot enjoy playing my mains except lucian a bit because his burst is also strong, but bursting people is way less fun than outplaying with dashes and movement speed Ashe on the other hand is not fun at all because she cannot burst due to how her kit works

I play like 1 game each 2 days with some friends and that's it didn't play rankeds since 2 months and i keep decaying but i don't care

yup after 8.11 im pushing into negative winrate in soloq. I get plat5 with 60% winrate and then boom downhill.

samething happened to me i got into plat 2 with massive win streak now im plat 5 with gold 2 mmr cause i lost my last 15 games, due to rage quiters and feeders.

I love Riot, League and its Universe, but I hate its current Gameplay.

As simple as this sounds, this is me right now. Love everything but the Gameplay, but its a Videogame so Gameplay is kind of important one would think, and there start all my Problems i have atm.

The game is in such a bad state. I really feel like Riot is making the game worse and worse over the last couple of years especially. They changed their motto from making changes to make the game better to making changes for the sake of change.

Riot also wants to dictate the meta, eliminate champ diversity (because let's face it, losing out on 80% of ADCs as viable champions is killing diversity even if other champs can now role-swap), and overly buff/nerf player's favorite champions which then kills off one-tricks from wanting to play. Oh, also their strategy against toxicity seemed to only make it worse, since reformed players will probably never get back to Level 2 Honor, much less Level 5 lol...

GG Riot, you guys gave this Diamond player who's been playing since Season 2 and has spent tons of $ on the game a good reason to quit.

I want to. I really do. Each time I tell myself I'm going to rank/do quests again I just couldn't bring myself to.

But the only thing I can try doing is check ff@20 for the new skins and work on an ongoing fanfiction/comic that I've been doing so for a year now.

Knowing that the skins team will probably just keep on focusing popular champs for the sake of "design" instead of giving themes to champs that really needed them also adds even more disappointment.

Even AFKing in MMOs by staring at people is more intuitive and entertaining than playing a single game of LoL at this point.

I do. And I'm having fun playing Aatrox because even though he's a lot different I am still willing to give him a chance, because his new kit overall looks fun and epic to play with. Who knows, I might even grab his mecha obsidian booty too. :P And of course, I'm having fun playing my mains as well.

I'm one of those people that played way back when and came back recently, and I honestly like the game still. Sure, there is a lot of shit I don't like about the game like BE and the constant money grabbing, but when I actually play the game, I still enjoy it.

Honestly, I'm just here to see how bright this dumpster fire burns. I like some of the changes, but it's still a game where one person feeding on your team spells a loss at least 80% of the time if you aren't playing a specific set of champs.

Protip: you can fall out of love. If your girlfriend turns into something you cant stand you leave her and you no longer love her to any extent, sometimes you flat out hate her.

Not only do some people not like the meta but they don’t like where Riot is going with the game and their “change for the sake of change to keep the game fresh” philosophy.

If you truly didn't care about the game anymore, you probably wouldn't be here because why would you hang out somewhere that you don't like? Maybe you hate the game but love the lore or characters? Maybe you have a lot of fond memories? etc. You can still love League as it was but not love what it is right now.

And I think people need to realize change for the sake of change has happened since Day 1. It's nothing new. Now it's just a standard people aren't ok with.

I stopped loving this game the moment they reworked my favourite assassins and after Riot made numerous dumb changes to this game, particularly the rune update.

I mained Kat for 8 years.....and I had to say my final goodbye once they nerfed everything fun about her rework.

There is literally no reason for me to play this game since it's not fun with friends anymore and it doesn't reward my individual skill as much as other games such as Overwatch and Smash Bros.

I mean I still think it's great. Yea the assassin mids suck since I main syndra, velkoz, and Viktor. Yes it could be better, but it also could be worse too. Anyone remember when the black clever passive wasn't unique? Those were dark times.

No, people want it to be a 5v5 team game where macro strategy is rewarded along with mechanics. What it is now is Call of Duty snowball fest and that isn’t what the game was for the past 7.5 seasons. People want changes to be made to balance the game and have more champions be viable, not change the game for the sake of change in order to keep it fresh.

Currently i’m just taking a break until the meta unfucks itself. Adcs that aren’t Kaisa Lucian Ezreal MissFortune are utter garbage at the moment that bruisers, fighters, and mages are running rampant bot. Jungle is an absolute mess as well. It’s still 20 - 25 min one sided stomp fests with rediculious damage and paper towers that it’s just too much for me, personally. Right now i have taken a break from league. Playing games such as the new blazblue cross tag battle, and starting to draw again.

I don't like the game anymore. I log on and play only when my friends bug me to. Otherwise I don't play it anymore. It's sad that a game I have been playing since season 2 can turn out this way. I just think there is too much for them to keep up with in terms of balance and the game is changing way too much for people to want to keep up anymore. I mean they should stopped with new champions years ago. Reworks and VGU garner more attention and love than new champions do. I hate to say that new champions are so bad but they have remained some of the most annoying champions to play against. Zoe is annoying to play against and no one likes her at all.

The Developers are also extremely bias in their decision making when it comes to content and stuff they work on. You want proof? Reworks for popular champions like Ahri and Lux who will probably get further work done on them. Ryze has received the most amount of VGU and reworks than any other champion. Players are just tired of waiting and tired of being ignored. They want to see their champions amazing and not the same garbage every year. Who cares anymore when it is a new champion or popular one getting a skin or rework.

Love the actual game? Not really, more like barely like now a days. Maybe it's the meta, maybe it's more annoying champs popping up, idk. I've played this game roughly 4 years now and maybe I'm just getting burnt out by it.

I still love the lore and characters though, that's really the only thing keeping me here heavily. Outside of that, I wouldn't be surprised if I found myself moving on to other games.
