Ganked by lvl 3 Jungler at lvl 1-2 is so busted.

Yeah, being someone who has suffered from these lvl 3 ganks, it's absolutely ridiculous having to deal with someone like Lee or Vi coming in at level 3 and either making us blow summoner or getting a double.

I had an enemy top Riven absolutely cry about "Bully Sej" when I went top lane right after my red side red + krugs as she hit level 2 and went for the all in cheese... She died, my laner got first blood and that lane was basically over when I came back about six minutes later and my laner baited her into my ult. (Bonus was she had just popped own ult activation as the bola hit. Mmm, gotta love when important CDs get blown to no effect.)

So it isn't just bot lane that can end up suffering. Certain top lanes it pays to gank early also get blown up or get to burn flash early. Hard to get your cheesy early pressure on things like Riven or Pantheon if the enemy jungle comes flying in before the third minute and takes at least half your health bar.

Top lane gets the worst of it. A 2v1 means everyone's focusing their abilities on the one top laner. 3v2 means the dmg and cc is "Soaked" up among two people, and easier to survive

rtbf761092711 votes

No I would argue that's not true at all. Works much better against a bot lane. The support is probably going to have a cc ability, and the adc is squishier than virtually every top laner. The lock down potential and 3 people focus fire onto 1 person is ridiculously hard to live though, which is why it's done every single game.

Spaceman5pff2 votes

Really depends on the lane matchup.

Ganking for a Irelia Riven toplane creates a MASSSIVE snowball effect no matter which one is on your team. Ganking a Ezreal Soraka lane when your botlane is Caitlyn Janna doesn't create nearly as much snowball pressure.

The same argument can be made for the opposite extreme. ganking a Maokai VS Nautilus lane doesn't do much since neither of them will ever kill eachother 1v1 unless there is a huge skill disparity. But then ganking Lucian Leona with an allied Draven Braum can be all you need to do to win a game.

This type of choice is not so black and white as it seems you want it to be.

I just want lee sin nerfed and ill say anything to make it happen

Spaceman5pff2 votes

^ Fair statement right there.

Troll for Trump1 votes

YEah, also thought of another reason.

By the time you get lvl 3 on krugs at approx 2:45, top laner will probably hit 2 by the time you come. If your top laner is the one to hit lvl 2 first, that means he's the one doing more pushing, meaning the lvl 3 gank is much more riskier and is more of a dive.

If you go to bot, because the XP is shared, they won't be lvl 2, ever, so ganking bot is more "Reliable"

even though you already know its coming and when...you refuse to adapt your laning phase to compensate for the guaranteed early pressure?

No, if you use both wards in River/Tribush you lose all pressure in the two bot lane bushes, therefore preventing auto harass onto the enemy harass, but allowing them to harass you. It may not seem like a lot, but it makes a difference in who backs first or who wins the first trade.

S H A Y C 01 votes

have you considered letting them push a bit and freezing early? maybe you lose some cs, but a small cs differential in exchange for wasting lee sins time watching bot lane seems a reasonable way to go.

i mean you could whine about it and keep getting rekt, or you could adapt. your call.

I don't think Riot is working this preseason. Ask Santa.

Been a couple weeks now and pretty quite from Riot. I understand it's the holidays. I think there are some additional things they need to work on this preseason too.

  1. Fix cheese.
  2. Reduce ADC damage. Way too op.
  3. Remove auto fill.
  4. Get primary role more than secondary role.

To be fair, they took off the week near thanksgiving, and we are just hit hump day of the following work week. Not surprised we don't see major changes yet.

Their jungle camp spawn at 1:35. Lane starts at 2:00. They will always be level 3 when you're level 2. All they have to do is take part of their 3rd camp to reach level 3, or scuttle crab that spawn at 2:30 to reach level 3. At best, it will only be a 10 second difference. They will always hit lv 3 before 3:00.

That's why the exp needs to be redistributed. Chickens need to have less ad and give more exp, krugs need to have less exp.

Imagine if you placed 1 ward in the tri bush at like 2:30...no gank :o The power of wards

Bushy Þussy3 votes

agreed, most people think level 3 ganks are op

but if you put a ward up, and your jungler is smart, then the enemy jungler will fail his level 3 gank as your jungler clears the other half of enemy jungle and comes out with a 1-2 level advantage.

QFT. If people started warding for it, it's a pretty big fail if it doesn't work out. GG your whole off side jungle.

Oh so all they'd do in that case is force you out of lane and put you way behind instead of killing you. The power of wards indeed.

Evelynn junglers will walk into lane avoiding the bush. And this level 3 gank works on all lanes so what does a midlaner do there are 6 spots they can be ganked from. Even with a control ward it wont help I tested it out by hugging the wall opposite of the control ward at bot lane and went past it without being seen and helped get a kill and summoners.

Tel Saro3 votes

The lvl3 gank is pretty much standard practice now and that makes it incredibly predictable.

Make sure you ward and play passive/farm under turret.

I agree that it sucks, but if you are pushed up and die to it, especially when you know it's coming with certain jungles, that's on you.

Spaceman5pff2 votes

The best part is that - since only the Blue team jungler can do it to botlane* / only the Red team jungler can do it to toplane* - it is even more predictable.

Blue team toplaner needs to not push the first 2-3 waves Red team botlane needs to not push the first 2-3 waves.

Any lane can be ganked with this method and it is not like it happens every match from what I have seen so it is a bit harder to tell when it might happen.

I just had a game totally destroyed by it - I had no idea about it until my team mates explained how we were ganked by a level 3 Lee at the start of the game. Being behind that early just snowballed until both me and the ADC were several levels lower and couldn't do crap.

Now I looked into it, and I can't understand why it hasn't been fixed yet...!

Yeah they did move it from raptors to Krugs, and it absolutely broke the jungle. Honestly put way too much importance on Krugs and made Raptors not even worth the effort.

The Krugs need to be buffed up to Raptor levels of difficulty, then. In order to restore balance. Because this is total nonsense going on right now.

Wouldn't help, a lot of junglers can take Red for free and save Smite for Krugs.

As it is right now Krugs are leaving most meta picks at 95%+ health for the gank, if you buffed the Krugs to the point where you could have a proper deterent on the health percentages for the purpose of ganking, then the rest of the jungle would be an absolute bitch the clear and Champs that already have a hard time would be officially and permanently dumpstered for the sake of a few OP picks.

They need to nerf raptor damage or revert the raptor change entirely and reallocate the experience across the entire jungle so you can't ding 3 in two camps.

I'd prefer to see Krugs and Gromp trade places for a while and see how that works. Now you need to clear three camps for three and take a bit more beating, or if you do go for cheese you lack the red slow. I. like. that. idea.

Honestly though red buffs needs nerfs regardless. The slow makes early ganks damn near inescapable. If you're on your half of the lane and you get ganked by red buff kindred as top lane, good luck ONLY blowing flash in that situation.

Some junglers can bring exhaust so changes to red might help a little, but not much.

its busted i played twitch jungle did my red + krugs an double killed bot lane easy money. even better if you do it top lane an the laner sees you doing krugs an applies presure to zone the enemy top off some cs soon as you hit 3 stroll up there an kill him when hes goes to cs.

the problem is that if they adjust the jungle to punish them the junglers that already struggle a bit like fiddle will be in even more trouble. Lowering the exp would just be bad for most champions in the jungle.

I don't understand the whole hype about the Red > Krugs thing. You finish two camps at level 3, sure, but you'd finish it at around 2:35 or so. Meanwhile, Blue > Gromp > Big Wolf = level 3 at 2:25-2:30.

rtbf761092711 votes

It's because you have red instead of blue, and are closer to bot lane after krugs than wolves. The gank power is broken

Krug is much closer to the side lane than wolves, and red buff is better for ganking.

Yeah this level 3 cheese gank is pretty broken. I use it almost every match and it has failed maybe once or twice out of the 25 or so matches I've used it. I have used it to gank each lane so no lane is safe. Warding will not really help if there is a thresh on the team, or if the jungler is a champ like evelynn or twitch. I sometimes play evelynn and I bring smite and exhaust, so I am guaranteed to get the enemy to burn summoned if I do not manage to get the kill. I normally play sejuani jungle and always save smite for krugs. Lately I have seen a few enemy junglers gank early as well, but not many use the method and I gives your team a huge lead. First blood and burned summoners is quite impactful at the start of a game.
