Two games in 2 days now with Kata killing 3/5 champs in 2 hits no ulti, Is Kata OP....

NO! Build MR and Buy wards. In both these ludacrus games, Kata lost hard mid and started to roam. Everytime she left lane both bot and top got pings, but neither backed off, neither had wards, and the 1 time they did, they stayed to dive for a kill instead of retreating. Kata got 4 kills roaming in under 3 minutes, because no one used wards (support was building AP carry for some reason, not even upgraded trinket 40 minutes into the game)

Now, this might sound bad, Kata getting 0 kills and no farm in first 10 minutes, then getting 4 kills by 15 minutes, and continued to stack kills from then on. What was REALlY bad is that 30 minutes into the game, Kata could use e, w and kill our support, adc or top (though top was a good Vayne in the second match, and actually condemed Kata before the burst killed her, but this only bought her an extra second or so before the ulti came out). Our jungle (Zac) gave her the first kill, and didn't perform any better after that, eventually not being 1 shooted, but not being useful either as Kata just shunpo'd passed him, killed carry and support then left. Now the reason she was killing so easily is not because she was fed, it was because after feeding her so horribly, and 30 minutes into the game still not using wards, neither the adc or support bought MR. This happens a lot, but when the biggest damage dealing kills u in one or two instant spells (not channeling) maybe you should buy MR, it's not hard, there's plenty of variations, you only need one to survive long enough to at least shoot back. But no wards, no mr the entire game. I was only champ with upgraded trinket, I could still delete Kata alone, but she would just run away from me and get the members of my team roaming solo without wards. Now having a fed Shaco on top of this didn't help, and with Atrox and Trydamere, I had to build tankier just to compensate, but as Kata could kill 3 of us in less than 2 seconds (without ulti) and shaco could kill any that avoided her on his own (and you have not heard this wrong, the enemy had no support, double top but bot still lost REALLY bad) while top was actually winning 1 v 2. Anyway I went off point, as I was saying, since Kata could kill 3 of us in an instant with Shaco as backup, and since Zac always shot of into the enemy 1 v 5, he usually died to the AD bruisers and ADC while Kata shunpo passed and killed our carries. I was almost always 1 v 5 (or 1 v 4 as the enemy started trolling since it was so easy for them). Even after all that I still had most kills, possitive KDA and I think most assists on my team. I took the most damage and died the least. I literally did all I could, so excuse me for this seemingly pointless rant, but I needed to get it out that

Don't ban Kata, just buy a freaking ward and one MR item + an Iron locket for the team. That leona buying Frozen heart as her 3rd (or 4th after sunfire) item, when 3 of the enemy are AP and one of them is a tank really could have used a locket, ofc that one Kata can burst your adc before your ulti even lands! (But at least she had sightstone compared to the zyra that had 14+ deaths and 2 kills with her full AP build)

For the record, I avoided flaming in game, hence the built up rage in this post, I even asked Politely for Leona to buy Iron locket as her 5th item, (NOPE) with her mobility boots and 0 MR items she still thinks Kata with 15 kills is OP because they can't survive her combo???

At least with Riven there are reasons why once she is ahead you can't do as much, but with Kata there is never a point in which the game is lost because of JUST her, it's allies that can't play, not Kata that is too powerful (3 years into the game, I still refuse to ban her :P )

I get so tired of people whining about Kat. She's so easy to counter... just interrupt her ult. Her other abilities have horrid scaling, so if she doesn't have her ult she's pretty useless unless obscenely fed. I see people waste their stuns before kat even enters the fight, then whine that the captain "didnt ban kat" when she gets a triple kill. Instead of owning up to their poor skill usage, they just make excuses. There are SO MANY champs that have multiple ways to interrupt her. Cho'gath, Riven, Yasuo, Leona, Thresh, Blitzcrank (he has three ways to stop her ultimate... seriously, if you don't stop her with Blitz, you're doing something wrong), and Fiddlesticks are ones I can name off the top of my head.

I've noticed that EVERY MID that loses to LeBlanc or Kat always has 30 mr. They never get mr runes or any mr items. Then they whine about their damage.

I don't get the crying about Riven either. You have to be far better at her mechanically than most champions in the game just to play at your normal skill level. I'm absolutely terrible at her (even though I love playing her), and I pretty much never lose the lane against her. I just can't fathom why people ban her. The vast majority of the time, it's someone bad like me picking her and they go 0-2 or 0-3 and can't do anything in teamfights.

MR is the most useless defense in the game. Most Katarina players get Void staff, Abyssal or Liandry (people used to rush Haunting Guise before Ludens). Add the magic pen from runes ,masteries , boots and you will see why is it better to have more hp than useless magic resist. Katarina is probably the most played champion (EUNE) and people rage, if you don't ban her (in Platinum).

People just don't learn to ward properly in solo-Q. Assassins are popular because of how well they snowball when they get an advantage, and no one knows how to avoid it. If an enemy assassin can't get any advantages early in lane (which they usually won't, unless they're Zed or LeBlanc), they'll try to roam for easy kills. If they don't get anything from their roams, then they'll only fall farther and farther behind. I do wish Katarina couldn't come back as easily as she can right now, though. I do still recommend you ban her because of that, and the fact that no one else in solo-Q will seem to know what a ward is anyways.

Man, I've played Kata too - I just ask for my Morgana support to use black shield on me and the whole enemy team is just a dead meat. If you don't have Morgana, you will have to wait for their stuns to be used on someone else and then kill everyone. Another strategy is to have hard engage team with CC and you again destroy the enemy team (people in the LPL play her with this strategy in competetive play)... Manaless, spammy, no cooldowns, AOE assasin - looks ok.
