Ivern's damage (it's higher than you think)

Ok, so twice I've posted on these boards asking for confirmation regarding Ivern's shield, and whether the post game stats count his shields damage as his own, when used on a champion. I couldn't get a response from Riot but many players said yes.

I just did a test with the help of some friends, playing a game where I only hurt the enemy using my shield on my friend the entire game, so at the post game screen it says I did zero damage.

This means that the answer to my original question is NO.

This also means that not only does Ivern's shield, his most reliable source of damage give allies kills and farm without stealing, it also increases their total damage for that game, but this gives the illusion that Ivern has done significantly less damage (at least by a third, probably more depending on game play style) combine that with not counting Daisy's "damage taken" it also looks like he tanks less than he actually does too.

For clarification, Daisy's damage or shielding Daisy to do damage counts, but shielding allies does not count as your damage. It took me a while to find this out (Since you have to play a full game to get the stats, but you have to avoid using root or auto's or shielding yourself) so I thought I would post my findings for the good of all those considering Ivern or curious about him in general.

I've been aware of this since the first day of his release. I took him mid and got raged at for lacking damage, despite the fact that our Vi and Darius (two champions who, discounting Sunfire, otherwise cannot deal magic damage) had a third of their damage as Magic, and only one of them had Sunfire.

Excellent info. Thanks for the post. I will be wary about his numbers stats with that in mind.

Easier test that I did a while back Test 1 Ivern shields Ally

Ally kills enemy with shield

Ally gets Kill, Ivern gets Assist.

Test 2 Ivern Shields Ally

Ally Kills Minions

Ivern gets no farm

I should note that he has a higher AP ratio on his W than Kayle does on her E. item 3115 ?

Ivern is useless.

similar "problem" with janna where the E shield will actually give her a lot of damage if she casts it on herself

Thats the case with many supports. Namis E on allies counts as their damage, leonas passive counts for those that proc it, Luls pix counts for the one that has her shield, Sonas Q-aura counts for those that recive it. Not 100% sure, but i also think it uses the magicpen of your allie rather than your own aswell. Similar with any buffs, like jannas shield, it adds alot damage to your carrie while janaa gains no credit for it in her stats.

Having one on your team is like an instant lose because of how useless he is. He brings nothing but a snare and a terrible ai minion and an occasional shield.

Hes just so unimpactful. You hit snares but have nothing to follow up with

I think he's pretty good, I got him to rank 4 than stopped playing him but yeah. He really doesn't do damage. If anything I just want them to buff Daisy a bit, by doing so you are rewarded more for managing Daisy.

Ivern is super underrated right now. Watch him be overbuffed to OP status like Bard lol

This is the kind of post gameplay needs more of. +1
