Simple solution to Zed/LeBlanc/Fizz etc

None of these champions are OP as such, so simply reducing their numbers would force them out of viability, equally completely reworking them would potentially ruin fun champions who do add to the appeal of LCS with their flashy style of play

So

Release a support champion based on keeping the carries alive, something which hard counters them. Say maybe give them an ability which allows you to cleanse one of your allies, so the assassin really does have a decision to make based on baiting a carry away from their supp or trying to bait out the cleanse. I think this would be the most healthy and most strategic way of balancing these champions so the next time some firstpick hot shot thinks he will carry with LeBlanc, your lastpick thinks 'not on my watch sonny'

Or they could just be deleted...... No...? Anybody? We'll come back to that one then.

Also the problem with this one is, is that you would heavily rely on this one support, and it doesnt solve laning when it's most needed. Not to mention the fact that you'd practically need to know ahead of time when they were going all in.

The problem does indeed lie with their kits, and making a champ or another item that helps isnt actually a solution.

Release a support champion based on keeping the carries alive, something which hard counters them.

  1. Releasing 1 champion to force wide-reaching balance doesn't cause wide-reaching balance, it just makes that 1 champion a mandatory pick/ban.
  2. hard-counters are really bad in a game like LoL. Good champions are consistent and reliable. Bad champions are inconsistent and get hard-countered more than the next guy. Introduce a mandatory hard-counter champion, and everyone they hard-counter is an extremely risky/bad pick in blinds, and forces the champion in question to be banned in ranked.
  3. the job of (ranged) supports is to counter-initiate and protect their carries as-is. Protecting a carry isn't a new job a new champion can fill - the current supports just do that in a fairly balanced, non-mandatory manner where skill is a deciding factor in a support being successful at protecting or an assassin being successful in killing.
  4. If assassins are a major issue - Riot could simply nerf key assassin items or buff the existing supports.

Anyways - your simple solution would cause a lot of complex issues and generally cause more harm to balance than good, as the collateral damage would effect a wide range of things outside of dealing with an assassin.
