Why the hate for new Cassipeia?

I have played several games with cassiopeia since her kit got updated and I have found her to be extremely powerful, especially lategame.

Why has the criticism been so hard on her? I follow surrender@20 and I see riot is working to change her again, Im not sure why that is.

Please enlighten me what is wrong with current Cassiopeia and discuss your own opinions.

It was rushed for lore reasons.

She was given a boring stacking passive that arbitrarily gives her a huge ball of stats.

This ball of stats means her ratios get gutted to compensate.

The communication was shit because worlds.

Now that worlds over, all communication points to stashu wanting to cling to the shit passive no matter what, just vandaid fix it.

He finally posts he might consider removing the passive if enough people hate it, at a point where most people have just rolled over and accepted it.

Just off the top of my head.

There are a lot of reasons people are upset. The main ones I see are:

  1. Her powercurve was inverted. She used to be strong early and started to fall off late. This disenfranchised most of the longtime Cass mains because a strong early game was one of the biggest reasons to use Cass.
  2. She was changed from a primarily AoE dot mage to a single target dps mage. All of her power was shifted to E, so if you aren't using E you aren't contributing much to the fight, this effectively removed her poke and harass play pattern.
  3. She was rolled out in a very weak state. Sure, late game she puts out decent damage to a single target, but until you have 1000+ AP you are doing much less damage than pre-rework. They gave minor buffs right after release, and are changing it more, but Cass is in a very bad spot right now.
  4. Her new stacking passive is a chore, and unlike other stacking passives, there is a max limit. It's basically there for the sole purpose of neutering her early game, and making her turn on at minute 45.
  5. Upon release, Red posts about it completely stopped for several weeks. They are communicating more often now, but they kind of dropped a bomb and vanished for almost a month. That chapped a lot of people.
  6. The updated Desperada skin is pretty fugly. Riot is pointedly ignoring all the posts about it.

Oh yeah, I forgot the part where people who abused scripts on cass catalyzed this execution I mean rework. You know, instead of fixing the core problem they just swept it under the rug by kneecapping a perfectly good champ, and then making up some bs and throwing out some buzzwords to make the public believe she was broken as fuck before.

I hope riot's golden boy lee sin gets scripts so they have to pull the trigger on their lcs money machine or actually do something.
