Fortnite isn't going to roll over and die, and League is NOT invincible

To the people regurgitating the meme: "LoL dEaD gAmE!" "Overwatch PUBG Fortnite will kill League xD LUL JK"

Let's think about this for a second... Overwatch is not fun to watch because it's too 'run-and-gun' style like Quake/Unreal and people like to watch slow, methodical, easy-to-understand games which is why CS:GO is still very popular as an e-sport.

PUBG literally killed itself by letting hackers run rampant. I tried to play that game, but it's just so easy to use an undetectable hack, that half the time you die, it's to a hacker.

Now, there is Fortnite. Made by Epic so there's plenty of security to stop any kind of hacking. It's a fun and simple game. League is not simple, but it is also no longer fun. Fun > Not fun.

League is still the best game to watch... But the best game to play has become very debatable. Overwatch? Fortnite? CS:GO? Take your pick.

LoL could easily be the #1 but just like PUBG it's killing itself. Fix the dogshit meta, fix the match-making, let people search for clubs, do those things and you could stop updating the game for a year and be just fine.

Don't know why I'm posting this. There's no point. Riot doesn't give a flying fuck xD

It doesn't even have to be the most popular game to remain enjoyable. Why do you even care?

Matchmaking is never gonna be "fixed" by the way at least not to the degree you want.

Come on back in 6 months to a year. League will still be here and Fortnight will be replaced with another multiplayer game like it.

I liked this game when I started in season 1, and I still like it now. It's very different from when I started, but I'm also different. I don't care what game is the most popular, I just want to play something I find fun.

I also don't limit myself to one game. I play League, Overwatch, Diablo 3, Warframe, Stellaris, Skyrim, Subnautica, and I'm just starting to get into Battlerite. I play what I feel like playing, and each of them offers up something different. Doesn't matter which one is the best, and it doesn't matter which one is the most successful or popular.

When it comes to watching games though, I really don't care about the game. I watch people play anything from For Honor to Minecraft. If the people talking are entertaining and I like them I watch. League as a game is entertaining to watch for me, but I dislike listening to casters in professional games, so I watch a handful of entertaining streamers. Not one of them only plays League, and I'm there for the streamer instead of the game anyway.

I cant wait for league to die off. Its run by a company who doesnt care about its player base, just how much money they can get

Epic could turn out the same. Who knows. I know a offender worse than if Riot didn't care and Epic if they do become what you expect Riot consists of, and that's Nexon and KOG. NA Elsword is a legit ghost town because Nexon and KOG only listen to people with money or Korea. I played that game before I came to League, found League, and slowly gravitated toward League as Els was starting to get mismanaged due to greed. I'm currently waiting for that game to die so I can peacefully have my 500+$ over the years back or something like it. It pains me every day looking at how pitiful of a state its currently in.

Everything you say about "fun" is anecdotal and opinionated. You do realize not everyone in this world is you right? I have played nearly all the mobas and I still very much prefer Mobas (currently LoL and Hots) over other genres. Also best game? Completely opinionated and non debatable, but since you asked- The best game is Chess. Here is another opinion of mine- "watching" any game is boring to me, I'd rather play the game lol. Also, after playing LoL since Season 1 its still fun :P

Why can't people enjoy multiple games? Just because one game is new and interesting doesn't mean people are gonna just stop playing another. I also know people who divide their time between LoL and Overwatch. Hell, I've been toggling between WoW and LoL for years myself.

I dunno. I guess the whole "this game is gonna kill that game" mentality just really bugs me.

fortnight has 1 major flaw as does all battle royal games it lacks strategic depth. The game that tend to stick around with great numbers are the more strategic games starcraft, mobas, cs. Fortnight will fall off in my opinion as h1z1 and pubg because what are you really going to do besides out position them.

Starcraft which race are you going? are you going early game pressure or late game? what unit comps are you going to use? Mobas which champs with the massive rosters in Dota and LOL? Do the players have the meta champs in their champion pool? Are you going to do a 1-3-1 comp? 4-1 comp? team fight comp? early game? late game? CS the money economy management, do you do a 2nd round buy? save for an awp? then the map strategies of where do you want to flash? smoke off? send how many to split to take a site? How do you want to defend a site? Push to get a pick or play back?

fortnight out build your opponent and gain position to shoot them ok. Hope you get decent starting items? The top level people can do both its not much strategic difference from game to game.

lmao Fornite is just another call of duty. It'll die out once after a while.

CoD is still being hyped even after its long AF existence in the game industry. its not gonna die out. Fortnite however... is worrying. It's trending too much for it to die any time soon

I don't know, there seems to be a sense of RNG to that game, especially at the beginning and trying to get a gun. 50/50 that you will either find one, get a good one, or get a dogshit gun. And it also has the same reoccurring theme of when you get unlucky: Get killed almost instantly->leave for lobby->queue again->find game and then get killed again right at the beginning-> repeat first point. It doesn't seem fun at all when that can be the case. One change to that game will either spell stability or death.

HEY OP, LoL has more viewers on twitch RN

As someone who still enjoys playing both league and fortnite, they are two completely different games. League is a complex fleshed out MOBA, a game about strategy mechanical skill and tactics with a HUGE roster of champs and it is more frequently updated than any other game, has a highly popular ranked system where the higher teirs are very sought after.

Fortnite on the other hand is a more fast paced, more casual battle royale style 3rd person shooter, basically pubg w/ certain changes. While fortnite may get upgraded frequently overall the game will never have the depth a game like league has and they will both continue to be enjoyed for different reasons.

lmao, because Epic Games treated Paragon so well right?

Elisheva1 votes

Well... It's kind of like the new Minecraft. Mainly attracting kids because of their larger amounts of free time, and streamers/content creators have free reign to money by entertaining them. When the next flavor of the month comes out, it will indeed lose popularity.

I honestly can't wait until the hype for Fortnite dies out. I don't hate the game or anything but I'm just tired of seeing and hearing about it.

Upvoted because true.
