Ahri "supposed" to be easy?

I just played some Ahri and IT IS SO DIFFICULT to play.

Like, I enjoy having a "get out of jail" Ult but her skills are awkward as hell to aim. The Q orb is super gimmicky (and short ranged) and even if you hit your E, its generally not a death sentence for the target you hit. The ratios of the damage seems to be lower than I'm used to as well.

I've heard that she's supposed to be an "easy" champion to learn and play? BUT IT FEELS SO DIFFICULT TO PLAY and I deal no damage.

I can hit Viktor lasers like a sniper but for some reason her skills just seem very gimmicky...

why are you guys downvoting the guy? I don't get the toxicity of these boards. the guy is new to the champ, comes to ask for help/tips and needs to see people downvoting his post. ffs..

No, not really. I got her as well by combining champion shards but never played her more than once because I never liked her mechanics. Trying to land her skill shots is difficult because it's quite narrow and can be juked as long as you're not running straight. I haven't lost many games to Ahri players before with Vladimir since it's difficult to output a lot of damage unless you can get your charm off.

I've never found Ahri to be easy, either. However, I also remember back in the day when her E caused her other spells to deal more magic damage, higher damage across the board, and Deathfire Grasp existed. As a result, if you so much as hit your E with the components for DFG, not even the item itself, your opponent died. No counterplay. They got hit by the E, and now they're taking a Q and W to the face and their health is gone. This was also before Thunderlord's was a thing.

well, in lane, with ignite and ult on, u can definitely get a kill if you hit the charm. but I think people say she's easy for two reasons:

  1. she's not mechanically heavy champ.. it's just skill shots, she's like lux it that regard. shes very straightforward.
  2. your charm is A LOT easier to hit when teams start to group up during the mid to late game, and thats why shes so good. she just makes easy picks with her e and the guy is dead.

edit: and btw!! I hope you understand that your ult is mainly to make you hit the charm easier right? you are supposed to ult into the target and then e. if you didn't know that then maybe thats why she feels a bit clunky.

If you're going from Viktor to Ahri than yes it would be more difficult. VIktor's entire kit is basically point click and Ahri has fast skill shots. There's a big difference going from point click to skill shots.

Also it's dependent on the player. I think a majority of people would say Ahri is on the easier side of champions to play.

Only his Q is actually point and click vs Ahri's 2 auto targeted spells. His E is also weird to use for many where as Ahri is fairly standard.

It's point click because there is practically no cast time. Meaning you put your mouse over a target and click the ability and they cannot dodge. Same with W and R.

She's forgiving, but when a champ's most important spells are all skill shots, and one spell has its most important portion of it allocated to a boomerang effect, it's not necessarily "easy" to reach her skill ceiling.

KoKoboto1 votes

You mean skill floor. Skill ceiling would be the advanced stuff that isn't a part of all other champions.

As a Ahri player i can say that most of her damage burst requires you to hit her E. If you dont lant the charm then you may as well just back off. I can agree that her skill shots can be clunky, specially her Q. She is great for poke damage in lane since it does true damage however, the second hit is easy to dodge. Why most ahri players will try to hit you with max range Q so you get hit by both hits at the same time.
