How Rito can reform the Runes system to benefit the company and the players

So people have always complained about absurd prices for runes and let me explain why:

It has always been more expensive to BUY THE RUNE PAGE WITH IP then to buy the actual runes themselves. Which doesn't make anyone want to buy the rune page with RP because it's so cheap to get a new one.

Now rito, I know you wana make money off the game and that's okay! We support you :D But you're doing it wrong. Let me show you how you can improve your shop system, improve the way players arm themselves with runes and improve your cash revenue around runes to better fit EVERYONES needs.

Here are my changes:

Rune page cost: 2,000 RP - 12,000 IP

Runes cost: Physical damage related marks - 200 RP or 1500 IP

Magical damage related marks - 200 RP or 1500 IP

Defense related marks - 200 RP or 1500 IP

Utility related marks - 200 RP or 1500 IP

Physical damage related seals - 250 RP or 1700 IP

Magical damage related seals - 250 RP or 1700 IP

Defense related seals - 250 RP or 1700 IP

Utility related marks - 270 RP or 1800 IP (higher cost cause they are more game impacting)

Physical damage related glyphs - 300 RP or 2000 IP

Magical damage related glyphs - 300 RP or 2000 IP

Defense related glyphs - 320 RP or 2200 IP (Higher cost cause they are more game impacting)

Utility related glyphs - 320 RP or 2200 IP (Higher cost cause they are more game impacting)

Physical damage related quints - 750 RP or 4500 IP

Magical damage related quints - 750 RP or 4500 IP

Defense related quints - 700 RP or 4000 IP

Utility related quints - 750 RP or 4500 IP

Now you must be thinking "YOU'RE INSANE YOU WANT EVERY RUNE TO COST A MAX OF 4500 IP?"

NO - hear me out.

Rune pages should be the most expensive thing you buy IP or RP wise. Because by nature, more rune pages = more champions a person can play effectively. If you overflow them with easy to purchase rune pages they'll never learn one champion when trying to make use of all the pages they have by playing every champion they can.

So rune pages are the most expensive thing in my system, but runes are changed almost completely.

You no longer buy runes 1 by 1. No, you buy them in sets. So for example, you buy 9 types of every single physical attack damage related mark by buying a "packet" of them for either 200 RP or 1500 IP (as mentioned above) See what I'm getting at now? Instead of buying so many runes piece by piece why not buy every type of one rune at a time. So you want a bunch of physical damage related marks for Zed? Buy armor pen and damage at the same time as you do attack speed and crit so you can change your runes easily to fit your developing play style. This encourages people to experiment with different arrangements of runes and adds healthy development to the learning curve. If 9 armor pen marks don't work, change it. You can afford to now, you don't have to stress over if you're buying the right type of physical damage marks because you have them all for one fixed price.

Of course my prices for these "packets" of runes are probably kinda low cause I'm bias I want my runes now now now. But rito you're welcome to make each "packet" more expensive to fit your needs.

BUT HERE IS WHERE RITO BENEFITS: I am 100% sure no doubt in my mind I will never purchase a rune page with RP. I'm pretty sure most players won't because they realize it's easier to just change your existing two/three rune pages with your super expensive runes then to buy a new page and in the mean time your games played with your two pages can go toward affording another page to fit your needs. But with this system, people will either be able to afford the runes with ease and not be able to get the pages which means they A) spend a shit load of time farming for another page which is inconvenient yes but not horrible punishment like rune farming is now. Or buy a page(or two) again my prices might be a bit extreme for rune pages one way or another perhaps they're way too expensive but you want to earn money don't you Rito?

Now this being said, if someone chooses to farm up 12,000 IP for a rune page, they can't afford the runes anymore so they either need to hyper farm again, or can easily buy cheap runes for cheap amounts of RP (Honestly I'd be much more tempted to buy packets of runes then I would a rune page, I'd probably do it if I decided to change up my play style to different champions like I am right now changing from Leona/Braum/Thresh to Zed/Ekko/Shaco)

So as mentioned above. This will work better for Rito money wise, people are more likely to buy runes that make an immediate difference in their game then to buy pages which don't. Rito gets more money - players get better rune setups. And if there ever is a need to introduce different types of runes for any reason, you set up another type of "rune packet" and sell that off the same way.

Now I'm going to be it's 6am where I live (Canada) and I'm quite tired. I'll be back at 10am my time when I wake back up so see you all in a few hours to answer any questions you might have!

Good idea but lets say you have not finished a rune page but have a small part of it

Ok but why do rune pages cost more than a legendary skin

Well "Theycallmedaking" With the rune "packets" you would have all of one type of mark/seal/glyph done so you if you could only afford say, all the physical damage marks. Then you would have your marks complete but everything else empty/filled with other types of runes you bought previous. So you would just simply save up more IP and buy the next packet, you would run into the same problem using normal runes it would probably be worse in fact cause normal runes are more expensive and take longer to build thus you probably wouldn't even have your marks filled in for some time let alone the entire page.

And "Emoto" - Rito wants to make money, as stated before. And these packets I suggest are a one shot thing. You buy them one time, and you can fill any rune page any way you want. So they're easy to buy, which means some people wouldn't want to buy them with RP meaning Rito has no renewed revenue on these rune packets cause no ones gonna buy them more then once. But you can have a LOT of rune pages. Which means if they're expensive, RP and IP wise people will return to buy more pages with RP giving Rito the revenue they miss out on by not selling the runes over and over again.

Alternatively you could also make it so you need to purchase the rune packets one time for every page, but then you would need to reduce the IP cost of each rune packet then you could reduce the cost of the pages overall cause more RP would be spent on each page through the packets and through the page itself.

I think the price is the only thing that confuses me. I thought you were talking about a single rune page, and not a whole rune page bundle, but the price between ip and rp is quite big, considering a single rune page costs 6,300 ip / 590 rp

with your prices, a rune page bundle would cost 12,000 ip / 2,000 rp, and I think the rune page bundle in ip is more cost efficient than buying it for 2,000 rp, so i think people would def prefer to keep their ip to get alot of rune pages for free instead of paying an large amount of money for it..

No that's the price for ONE rune page.

Because the runes themselves will no longer be insanely expensive something else needs to be expensive in return in order to satisfy the demon that is rito
