If you E and attack an enemy, you can Q mid E animation and it hides your Q animation for part of the duration of the Q animation.

I dont see where this is practical ;o the only time I would love it if they didnt see me winding up Q is when im not in range for an E anyway

Whenever Vi is in a lane, pretty much. When you're covering for mid lane and the enemy is still there, you can E a minion, Q up to them and they wouldn't know. You could force a flash or get a kill.

Also, if you plan to gank a lane with Q start, make sure to auto attack once and use E to reset the attack for the 3 proc on ganks.
