PSA: Upgrade your god damn trinkets.

You probably would have convinced more people by providing a detailed explanation, including gold efficiency vs. buying wards and drastically improving vision or whatnot.
Honey attracts more flies than vinegar.
I love the people who go support, don't buy a gold income item, don't buy a sightstone, don't buy wards, AND don't upgrade their trinket.
Yet have a

250 gold for a trinket thats a better version of sightstone - on any champion. Even if none of the other trinkets appeal to you, not upgrading and not buying any wards is like the noobest thing you can possibly do.
I try to tell even friends this. One game in particular annoyed me, when he was playing ADC splitpushing, got ganked, and then said to the support, "Hey X, we need more wards on the map." The supports response was great though because he said, "Bitch, there's a store you're at since you're dead, go buy some."
There's no excuse for you to go the whole game and not upgrade it, I don't care if you're and AD carry, Mid Laner, especially Top laner, whatever. It's the team's job to ward.
Read instructions wrong. Bought 50$ worth of RP. When do I get wards?
But my teammates are allergic to wards.
The League community uses "PSA" a lot. I do not think it means what they think it means.
One thing I hate as support Velkoz is trying to explain to people why an upgraded trinket is way more useful for me than wasting an item slot (and 800/1600 gold) on sightstone. It doesn't matter if you tell them that the upgraded trinket can have the max amount of wards out at once, or saying that by ignoring sightstone you get haunting guise/cdr item earlier for a power spike while keeping max vision.
It's like arguing with people who are devout traditionalists (aka impossible). The only argument you could really make is that you can't upgrade until level 9 which is ~14 minutes into the game, but before then you really only need a trinket ward in river and the odd 75 gold ward for anything else.
"Could you ward please"
"No, it costs too much" (unskilled)
"You could upgrade your trinket for 250 gold."
"Wtf I'm not a Supp" ("smurf")
"You get unlimited wards."
"That's a Supp item" ([derogatory term])
"You get 1 ward per minute... it pays itself off in 3 minutes"
"No..."
