I don't know, in solo lane he is clunky as hell, 0 waveclear, lots of mana problems, almost impossible to get 3 stacks 1 on1, withotu counting that is impossible to use Q properly unless you are against a complete noob

All in all i feel like he has 0 lane presence

Gobble up minions, spit them out. That's your wave clear.

the funny thing is i just went against gnar as tahm and destroyed him. its all about proper mana management, but yeah your dueling power spike hits at lvl 6.

He's more of a situational top lane pick. I wouldn't think about maining him as a top laner. He's a much better support.

He can agaist certain matchups. I seen today a TK do really well against a hecraim. Hecraim outscaled him big time late game thou. I think he can top Braum style and possible win the match ups but late game he will decay so much that the only reason to pick him would be to shut down an enemy top.

He is a utilty tank top laner ofcourse his dueling is on the lowside, but to be honest I think he handles himself pretty well on top.

Ok.

  1. W has a 32% max hp nuke on it at max rank
  2. W (regurgitate) has 300 base at max rank (no waveclear? no poke?)
  3. You can do a manuver where you pretend to go ward or something, then ult in with an Amumu in tow
  4. Your E makes Tahm resistant to poke, while simultaneously requiring you to poke him down, as you CANNOT 100-0 tahm with that grey health.

I've had no troubles at Tahm top.

Fought Tryndamere. Fought Riven. Fought Gragas. Fought Gnar.

Won em' all. Mana sustain is his early issue, but it can be countered by getting a Catalyst, building RoA or Righteous glory, then going for Frozen Heart or Iceborn Gauntlet for CDR and additional mana. Spit minions at waves to clear, finishing it up with Qs every 4-5 seconds. Your E gives you enough sustain to outstay most champions in-lane. Your R is a free half-teleport back to lane in bad cases, and good for ganking mid or other sections. TP helps this even further. Hes got pretty of lane presence..Even during ganks from the jungler, his E being a full-health shield possibility keeps him safe long enough to run back to the tower, even from the enemies tower.

You obviously don't know much about Tahm Kench. Level Devour first for the poke, maximum health damage, and CDR it gives, as well as the nice waveclear, and use your Q W combo when you want to poke them to save 40 mana. If your opponent fights you for too long, eat them and spit them behind you into your minion wave or turret, then stun them with Q. Doing that alone will do a good amount of damage, and you can heal off with your E's passive. The only problem he really has is chasing people. Even with the slow on his Q I usually can't execute my opponent without having to flash. Keep this in mind, and try him again, as he's really a fun champion to play.

dunno, i tried many times, i only won against a rumble. I think if the opponent is a bit itnelligent he wont let you do anything, and you are soo low on the damage, yeah the W does dmg but thats rly it. Maokai is a megatank too but i feel like he is much more reliable in terms of dmg in top. I will try agin for sure still practicing it

Play defensively, don't go out and attack them, wait for them to attack you. It's nice to know that you haven't given up yet, he's really a decent top laner, and he's a great tank. Also, the advantages of going top lane with him over support is that you become tankier because more gold, and you don't take up an item slot for your ADC.
