LP gains.

I recently read the ranked play faq about what determines lp gains. As I have a gf who has trouble getting to higher tiers because of teams having afks, trolls, feeders, ect ect... she has really bad luck, she isnt a great player or anything, but she doesnt deserve to be where she is.

"There is only one factor that affects the amount of LP you get: the perceived difficulty of the match, which is based on the MMR difference between the two teams. Being a part of a duo, kill/death ratios, and other statistics does not affect your LP gain."

So basically they are telling you, how good you personally do does not matter at all in getting to higher ranks, its ONLY about if your team wins or loses. I have never played enough ranked to get placed, not only because of the toxicity in ranked games, but i also had my doubts that they would place players who perform well even when their team doesnt, in a tier according to their skill level.

Me personally, I am not willing to play 400 ranked games in a season to get to a tier i believe I deserve to be in. They should evaluate personal performance in lp gains in my opinion. It wouldnt take much, look at damage dealt, damage taken, healing done. And then look at k/d/a ratio, supports wouldnt get left out this way, the only thing that would be really really hard to gauge is the playmakers. Cause honestly there is no way for them to tell if someone makes plays unless they have people watch every match, and that isnt gonna happen. But they could make ranked lp gains/losses more fair for people who dont have time to play themselves into challenger by playing 700 ranked games and slowly working their way up.

Its not just about your w/l ratio. And it shouldnt be based only upon it.

The ranked system has been overley hard on lower elo's forever but no one cares. High Elo's will tell you you suck and need to personally be better even though its a team game and you may do just fine, and Riot will just never aknowledge the issue at all.

It is true that if you feel you are better then where you are placed, you will be unsatisfied. The problem, though, with placing you based on your individual performance is that it is incredibly hard to create a system to judge where you need to be based off of game stats. If someone could oversee the game and determine where you could be, then it would be easy, but this isn't reasonable either.

For me I don't really have a problem with the current ranked system. I do have a problem with how toxic players are, but that isn't the systems fault. Anyways, I am gold, so I have a perspective that a lot of people dislike. For me, I carried myself out of Silver way back in season 2. I practiced a few champions and went into ranked. I won my lane, got a lot of kills and used that to win the game. I didn't win every game, but I won a majority of them, which is what matters. I carried myself out of Silver, which is why I feel if you want to get out of it you need to do the same.

What I am about to say now might be insulting so if I offend sorry. In general I feel that most people who think that they belong in a higher tier have knowledge about things that they don't need where they are currently placed, but aren't good enough individually to single-handedly carry themselves to a higher tier. A lot of times people always come back with the remark that "it's a team game" and while it is true that it is, in lower levels of play if you are significantly better then your lane opponent, you should be able to crush them, go to other lanes and crush those their, and end the laning phase. After that with your gold lead you should be able to win. Anyways, you may be good enough to be in a higher tier, say gold, but aren't good enough to get there quickly, which is frustrating. You are superior then other people in silver, but not by a significant enough margin so you will have to prove it over a longer period of time(games) to prove you belong in that higher tier.

You will be worthy of silver 3 or higher by the time you make it out bronze. But this system is funky but it was suppose to be a team game. The problem lies in the fact that players don't build teams. Team popularity and solo are flip flopped from where they should be.

There couldn't be an automated system that figures out how good you are based on how objective taking performance. KDA can't be a factor. Cs per minute doesn't work for supp. last hitting turrets, good luck. Junglers get drag. How would you go about handing out effectiveness grades to everyone and it be an automated algorithm? The only thing left is win loss. People should make more teams. But making friends on the internet is hard.
