Idea for runes

I had an idea to make runes more interesting. And also put the power of runes more in focus.

My idea is to lock up a set of runes that after locking can't be used in a rune-page. By locking a set of runes this way, you unlock a bonus to some of your runes of quintessence.

For example; You lock down your glyphs with magic resist, which means you can't use them in your rune-page. This gives your AP quints 2 extra AP per quint.

Another example; You lock down your marks with attack damage, and can't use them in your rune-page. This gives your Armor quints 2 extra armor per quint.

The idea is that you lock away one defensive stat to trade for more offense, or you trade offense for more defense. This way, the runes will still be balanced (just find the right number of points to get on your quints). Because even if you can increase your damage output this way, your opponent could do the same or they could counter it by boosting their defenses.

One way of doing this is making it specific for each rune-page. Another way would be to make it count for all rune-pages, and then set a 1 day timer during which it can't be changed... Then you can go crazy and make it possible to lock away multiple sets of runes for extra special bonuses, or add effects that aren't currently available in runes with special combination locks. The possibilities are infinite.

Not feeling it. This severely limits what champs I could play at a given time based on what I locked down

I have an idea for runes. remove them from the game entirely. it wont suffer.
