The dragon changes and nerfing the jungle role were the most toxic things to ever happen to thisgame
You have a role that doesn't feel fun to play, you're pigeon-holed into having to play carry junglers only, unless you are on a 5 man flex team, or you know your duo or your rando team in solo queue won't feed. (which is never a safe bet) so you must play assassins, overpowered bruisers, or volibear.
You are behind everyone in level, except maybe your bot lane. So ganking mid and top is extremely difficult if they're tanky and have ult so that carry jungler you played actually ONLY works if you have a winning lane you can get fed off of or a bad opponent that feeds you and broke their R key. If you don't play the bot side of the map, the enemy gets the dragons,
Dragons are super important now, not getting elder is usually the end of the game entirely. Not getting certain dragons and souls makes it extremely hard to gain and/or keep a lead.
If your bot lane isn't good you aren't going to have dragon prio
If your mid laner isn't good you aren't going to have dragon prio
New rift herald 1st can't even take a tower, but you don't want the enemy to have it,
so then if your top laner isn't good, you don't get the rift
If you play topside EVER and leave your botside to fend for themselves, they get camped like you've never seen before and the enemy gets all the dragons and then your botside tilts harder and the game is instantly lost in silver/plat elo(100%) and sometimes in iron/bronze/gold
So you take the worst changes about the game, i.e making it actually a team game, you force it even harder, the worst players in the game now entirely decide the outcome, and the best player in the game is just swept up with the tide feeling discouraged.
Years go by, the good players are leaving in troves
Look at daily player numbers in articles from 2014, and look at the same articles for 2018 and on, there are 20 million less daily players than there were 5 years ago.
