runes unlock at 8 custom pages at 11

but you cant actually change anything about them until 13 and 15. this is getting really old really fucking fast. not only are the rewards garbage the game leads you on by your nuts constantly in a pitiful attempt to make you keep playing. its a good thing im not a new player cuz i had a strong urge to just turn the game off after i hit 11, went to my rune pages, and saw that after all that grinding im still unable to do anything with my pages for another 2~4 levels.

Well new players shouldnt be focusing on runes on early levels. They should focus on learning basics of game before going indepth

Man we got a kid trying to shit talk rewards.. we didn't even get comped and the rewards aren't even that bad.. up to level 30, you get approximately 20k blue essence on your way up.. that's 20k vets don't get.. newbie account shouldn't complain

Thats because the system is geared towards helping new players get used to playing the game before forcing them to learn the nuances of the rune system. They don't care about people who make smurf accounts. New players aren't going to complain; they're too busy trying to learn how to play the game generally to worry about runes at that point.

I agree whole heatedly, you pick most of your "free" or random unboxed champions prior to the runes, i choose to spend my loot on diana and I cant utilize her for another 5 levels! Why on earth would they do that? Diana in this meta works with ONE rune setup for jungle and NOTHING else. If i were a new player chose the same champion to spend my given blue essence on and bought her then played until 11 only to realize shes that bad ( or im that bad at league) id quit for sure. I am tempted to just make another account to choose to buy another champ i know wont run into this issue. SMH you would think with all the brains they have at riot someone woulda thought of this? ffs
