rageblade varus
to start off ill just say that ive been rushing guinsoo's on varus for awhile now and have had a pretty staggering amount of success with it recently but what i want to ask now is more about using it when youre behind and/or in a lane that is not a good matchup.
i picked up varus a long long time ago when i saw some1 go like 42-0 with him in a bot game and have been playing him myself off and on as like a pocket pick i guess.
as i stated previously ive been rushing the rageblade on him in most of my games and usually do so well that the enemy team just surrenders once i start rotating for other towers but, i had an unfortunate game recently that made me wonder if what i was doing was actually good or if it was just a case of me being better at the game than the majority of my recent opponents and anything would have worked.
ill try and keep it short but the gist of it is a tilted
and a very aggro enemy

.
lane phase goes as follows: we get a good hook on draven while hes trying to pressure us under tower, both ADC get within around 50 hp. draven heals and flashes into a bush as his last axe kills me so thresh flashes into the bush after him, exhausts him (after im already dead mind you) and kills him then dies to lulu and whoever their jungler was. the rest of the lane is basically thresh walks up and hooks a melee creep, draven proceeds to run him down like an animal.
im rushing rageblade in this game and when i get to the blasting wand it tilts the thresh beyond recovery, he starts spam pinging my items and everything i do for the rest of the game at this point while complaining nonstop about how rageblade varus is a joke and we have no adc.
ive become accustomed to tilted supports (playmaking ones like thresh in particular) pinging the hell out of everything and pointing out everyones mistakes but their own when they are playing bad, but what made me post this was that the other members of my team agreed with him. the core of a build that his been winning me game after game and landed me one of the easier mastery 7 characters ive ever gotten is now being flamed and im being denied cs by my own team since ive been branded useless
i believe the game would have went alot better for me if we'd won the first fight bot lane but my question is do i go crit/lethal in this kind of game or do i just mute and play it out? if rageblade first item is not ideal then what is?
sorry about the text wall but ive been questioning this build path for a few days now and i figured i should atleast explain why. thanks for reading if you did and ANY input on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
yours truly,
a trash
