Yasuo's difficulty meter makes no sense to me

Yasuo Difficulty: 10/10

Just asking, why? He is resourceless, and has easy time farming. Using E to engage and escape through waves don't need that much thinking. W and his passive shield makes that he doesn't even have to dodge every ability. His Q may be hard to hit vs ranged champs, but overall Yasuo is pretty safe champ to play. On the top of that, his ultimate is just ridiculous since he can rely on knocks made by allies.

On release, Yasuo's difficulty was 8 as the picture below shows (I agree with the insult). Why and when was it raised? What are the reasons that makes Yasuo one of the hardest champions to play?

But he is easy to play. He's hard to play correctly, I'll admit but that comes with practice, overall though it doesn't take much to play him.

I agree with both your statement and your username.

The difficulty meter for a champion strikes me as almost exclusively for sub-level 20 players. It's more a representation of how complex the champion can be if you've don't know anything about it. Look at Varus (difficulty 2) compared to Bard (difficulty 9). Varus is pretty straight forward even if you're unfamiliar to the game. He's an archer, he can charge up to fire his arrow farther, or shoot off a volley that goes over people. Archery things. Whereas Bard is ... Bard.

Yasuo has a high difficulty rating to serve as a warning to new players. To a League veteran - who understands what his abilities mean just by glancing at them - he's not complex. But to someone who has only been playing for a short time I can only imagine what it must be like trying to figure out why you can't dash to that person when you could a few second ago, or why a tornado came out of your blade this time but not last time, or why you can't use your super-move even though the enemy is Right There. Perhaps ironically, his Wind Wall is the most intuitive thing about him.

Bard should be a 10/10, 9 is just underwhelming low lol. Bard mechanics are really hard for most people in bronze/silver/gold, takes dedication to learn him lol

How much you want to bet that anyone who agress with the OP has less than 20 games with Yasuo and don't know there ass from there elbow in terms of what a good Yasuo player looks like making them piss-poor judges on this subject as a whole?

Oh wait it's GnB. Nuff said.

Actually, difficulty meters only makes sense to new players.

To all other players difficulty is relative.

This is accurate lol. He's an annoying as hell freelo.

Yeah Yasuo is pretty faceroll.

It's practically impossible to fuck up when you have 4 built in , manaless, low cd defense/escape mechanisms coupled with unparalleled mobility. Only Lee is easier.

im more confused why he has AP damage at all?

E has an AP scale and deals magic damage

The blue bar I think is not supposed to read as 'AP' damage, it's 'ability' damage, meaning, how much damage comes from casting skills, vs autoattacks. Though sometimes it reads closer to that. Champs like Olaf have a decent amount of 'ability' damage on their bar...despite no ap scaling at all. Because throwing his q/axes out counts for a lot of his damage, it's still AD damage, but it's AD damage that's 'cast' vs right clicking to deal it, so 'ability power' It should probably be renamed to casting power or skill power for clarity though...

Also for OP: I think 'difficulty' should probably be named something like 'mechanical intensity' or 'skillcap' Is he hard to play? mehh..not really, he's fairly forgiving for an assassin. But, yes, you do have to push a lot of buttons to play Yasuo well, so, he is much "harder" or mechanical intensive to play/and or learn than someone like...say..Tryndamere, where you pretty much just have to right click to deal 90% of your damage.

... And yet they've gone far enough to be in your mmr despite this.

He has a low ass skill floor but can be played much better with a high skillcap.

Hes like master yi and lee sin. Maybe calling him shaco is more accurate, but with more reliability attached to his kit.

I have seen beginner shaco players

Ganking with shaco is ultra easy

What they fuck up is build though

Beginner yasuo players are just unstable and random.. If you lose a lane vs begginer yasuo then he is mostlikely not begginer or he had really bad opomment

As far as mechanics, shaco is maybe 5%. He is 95% decision making. The reasons new shacos feed so hard is they don't properly gank at the right spots, and don't take advantage of his dodge mechanic.

Maybe I just confused mechanics with skillfloor, if you make good decisions with shaco, u have 100% mechanics on him, if u make bad decisions, u feed helplessly all day.

How can u possibly fuck up yasuos build?

Shiv, IE, BOTRK, Trinity, berserkers greaves, and then one defensive item.

There are small variations that can happen, but still, his buildpath is very binary.

You can try playing yasuo in like diamond or plat, I did it on my brother's account they just fuckin counter you or shut you down. It is not as easy as you think it is.

It was. Literally have no idea why you responded to my four year old comment. Then pretended to have active knowledge of yasuo build history. Different meta, and yasuo was insanely op at the time. He is still a curse on this game.

For shame.

He's not hard. The hardest champs is probably someone like Cassiopeia, who is not only fragile but short-ranged and lacking in burst. Or perhaps a lackluster, immobile champ that had few tools to "outplay" his enemy. For instance, Ashe is rated as pretty easy to use, but have you ever tried to play a game as Ashe? She's slow, she's squishy, she has very few tricks up her sleeve. Carrying a game as Ashe is a LOT harder than doing it as say... Lucian, Corki, Graves or what have you.

Riot confuses "can make absurd plays if you're good" with "Is hard to use." Zed is fairly easy to play... but it's REALLY hard to be Faker. That doesn't mean Zed's difficulty should be massive, just that in the hands of a very skilled player they can rock people like mad.

He is among the hardest champions to play correctly.

Riot is correct in making his difficulty stat a 10 out of 10.

The combination of skillshots, squishiness, and his gameplay revolving entirely around you always being "in the moment" and making on-the-fly decisions (as opposed to other champions being far more measured and calculated) is what makes him so much harder to play (and so much different to play, too.)

Oh.

One last thing before I end this post.

Just because a champion is hard to play doesn't mean you need to get upset over it just because you don't like playing against them.

That's all for now.

His skillshots are xerath tier, but instant, and u can get super close to ur opponent before using them with e and they do on hit effects with no mana cost.

He is not squishy. Shaco is an example of a squishy champ.

Yasuo is not. Yasuo has tons of damage mitigation.

If you think hes hard to play, maybe ur just bad or not playing him correctly.

99.99% Yasou complains come from people who do not play him.

He IS difficult to master, easy to say anything OP from reading the tooltip, go get Gold V with him and come back to say he's easy, I'll gift you a skin.

Play Yasuo in ranked right now and tell me he is easy. Well? Go on.

Because he is hard to master and hard to pick up

Meep Man1 votes

10/10 is a stretch, but Yasuo is harder than most to pick up and is hard to master. However, I don't agree with 10/10. Very little champions in this game, at least to me, deserve a 10/10 difficulty.

Ex.: Azir Anivia Shaco are all champions that deserve 10/10 difficulty

Slitter1 votes

Yasuo lets say the fact you asked why yasuo is max difficulty is embarrassing

The JigSAW1 votes

Well there's a meme.

Want to win, play Master Yi. If Yi too hard, play Yasuo. If Yasuo too hard, play Roblox.

There's nothing difficult about playing him and so many have admitted they do it because it is so easy to win. But nothing any of us do will ever fix the problem because he brings in too much money, if that changes they'll do to him what they did to season 3 Kassadin in short order.
