Climbing Out of Bronze

My parents only let me play 1 or 2 games each day and I'm trying to climb out of bronze. I'm currently at bronze 3 with 23 lp. Can I have tips on making it out fast? My original goal was to make it to gold by the end of the season but it''s obvious it's not happening so my new goal is mid silver. Thanks. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

"ELO Hell" does not exist. It's a product of confirmation bias.

My challenger coach said this:

"Don't die. I know it sounds stupid, but really, it's the most important thing. If you're dead [I'm an ADC], you're not dealing damage or getting gold and XP. If you're not getting gold or XP, you're falling behind. If you're not dealing damage for your team, you're not fulfilling your role. Worse, you're giving gold and XP to the enemy team. So it's really, really important not to die."

I climbed out on roughly 2 ranked games a day. Sometimes more on weekends, but I average 3 games day if you include weekends. Most important thing is to look at what you did wrong, no matter how bad your teammates were, and whether you win or lose. Even games you win, you probably did not play a perfect game and you can still learn from your mistakes.

ELO HELL IS LIKE THE PRISON IN THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. THERE IS A ROPE CLIMB, A CLIMB UP A STONE WALL STRAIGHT UP A JUMP THAT ONLY A 12 YR OLD GYMNASTIC GIRL CAN MAKE ALL WITH A BROKEN BACK.

GOOD NEWS IS ONCE YOU MAKE THAT CLIMB AND GET OUT YOU STILL HAVE TO DISABLE A NUCLEAR BOMB AND FACE THE ENEMY THAT ORIGINALLY BROKE YOUR BACK.

ONCE YOU DO ALL THAT YOU CAN VAST IN THE GLORY OF ELO SIMILAR TO VACATIONING IN THE FRENCH RIVERA.

the best thing you can do til you are able to dedicate more time to the game ( thank your parents for allowing you to live on league) is improve at fundamentals of the game. such as last hitting, wave control, map control , warding, objectives. if you stop worrying about winning and focus on those with simple mechanical champs by default you will climb. at 1st you will lose when you focus on those objectives. but in the long run that will make you a better player and being a better player will help you climb out of bronze. there is so much to this game, its alot more then being able to 1 vs 1 your enemy. its damage foresight , knowing match ups, cooldowns, when you can push advantages, when you cant. how not to feed. how to get feed. how to position correctly.

now if you just want to climb and gain elo you can learn the new champs each month spam those til they are nerfed or other champs buffed to counter them and abuse that. but that wont directly have the long term improvement as the fundamentals.

honestly just win more than you loose. find a champ you like that fits your play style that you like playing (i like playing dueling/go in champions so i spam people like Quinn Gnar Yasuo in top lane to pretty good effectiveness. i just got out of bronze after working on it this entire season. it takes time so don't get discouraged. i lost 2 series to silver in a row before i finally won my series. good luck man

Play only a few champions, 3 at most. Get really good at them and learn how to farm well with them. Aim for 80 CS by 10 minutes, 13 minutes at most if your laning is hard or you're roaming a lot. Understand your champion's powerspikes and build towards them. For example, if you're playing a carry, use that CS advantage to build damage as fast as possible. Your goal is to carry the game. By out farming everyone, you will be able to build more damage than everyone else in a short space of time, even the enemies that are getting fed. CS consistently gives more gold than kills. People in Bronze have yet to understand this. This will get you out of Bronze or at least close to Silver. It's what got me out.

annie mid

70 at 10 min is actually rather high for a bronzie. However try to have 200 by min 20 and 300 by min 40 and you shoudl be fine.

Then mind if I ask you what role do you main (obsiously is not jungler or support with that CS) since depending on the role some champions do better than other as climbers. Usually on top for so low elo splitpushers are your best bet, assasins for mid and I have no clue what is currently good for adc (sorry but I stay really away from this role)

If you are only allowed 2 games a day, than you are kinda stuck their friend. Sorry. People who legitmately cilmb normmally clock in 4-6 ranked games a day, and have to win 4 out of those 6 if they expect to climb.

So if you are a player with a 50 percent win ratio, or god forbid you just have a off day and lose both of your 2 games, than well. hate to say it.

Welcome to Elo Hell

Try seeing if you can make a deal with your parents to at least allow you 4 games a day.

That's the first step in all honesty.

Plus you can't even get any legitimate practice off just two games a day, unless your looking up tons of guides in the background.

Pick a mage support; Proceed to snowball out of control/while still being insanely relevant late game even if your ADC is not good. This allows you to have an extra AoE nuke in every team fight and you'd be amazed how often an extra 30% damage to every enemy will win you games late game.

I used to play Nami support and even though it was helpful early game; I noticed if games dragged on to 45 minute marks you'd be out-scaled by people one shotting your team mates. The moment I switched over to Brand support and focused on full AP I went from Bronze to Gold (As I finally had a chance to influence games better - rather then getting someone fed and relying on them).

  • Learn to farm before going for kills
  • Learn to play more than 2 champs, as a matter of fact, learn as many champs as possible
  • Learn to play past the laning phase, example: what lane to push, where to be depending on your role etc.
  • git gud
