Should we rework Ezreal?

Aside from needing numbers buff, I feel that at the moment his whole kit feels very clunky to play.

Land Qs to gain an AS boost is such a contradictory and counter intuitive mechanic.

  1. Q is a ranged ability (way further out than his auto range) but when you land it your reward is to get more AS which you can't use unless you move up closer?
  2. After landing a couple of Qs you actually LOSE DPS if you don't just straight auto but the game doesn't tell you when you've hit this point

Why would you gain AS from landing ranged skill shot poke? Shouldn't you get more damage per Q or something? Why's it so unintuitive?

Also, what is with the random AP scalings throughout the kit?

Personally, here's how I'd rework

  1. Qs can crit
  2. When you land a Q, you get more damage on the next Q (stacking up to 5 times)
  3. No AP scalings, slightly more AD scalings

This is so he's 100% intuitive to play. You just stand back and try to DPS people with ranged Qs that can crit; land them continuously and you get very powerful Qs chunking the enemy down. Miss them, and you lose damage. If you're focused, E away auto a bit, and then keep Q-ing.

By adding Crit to his Qs, he can also build like a more traditional marksman.

I think Ezreal needs a complete and total overhaul. Not only because his kit could use modernizing to fulfill that "kid Indiana Jones" fantasy, but he looks god awful terrible. He needs a new everything, and it would also be nice for them to actually remake Pulsefire on the same level as DJ Sona or Elementalist Lux.

ezreal kit is fine aside from w and passive but considering how old he is you have nothing to complain, while yes i agree on the vu even if he doesn't look as bad as old garen or mordekaiser despite being the same age

Ezreal is just having problems in the current meta versus the current FotM champs. When the next batch of items get changed, or runes/masteries get changed, then he may well come back again - and I suspect that he will.

Landing Q's doesn't directly increase your Attack Speed, it reduces the cooldown on all your spells. If you hit that spell, you're rewarded with more spells.

His passive is what's giving him the attack speed, and it does so for every ability that hits a target.

AP scaling comes from a time when abilities scaled with ability power. AP Ezreal has been a build that comes and goes from time to time, with good trade offs (give up safety and sustained damage for higher burst). It's worth keeping in my opinion.

In general, Ezreal's passive and W are the least rewarding parts of his kit. W is almost a support ability, used when the team is attacking objectives or to get a Thunderlords proc. The attack speed, while appreciable at 5 stacks, again feels like an objective taking tool rather than a combat stat.
