Zed: "That is, up until his AD items remove the need for his spells"

InsaneSamurai··8 votes·911 views

Really?

I don't think anyone had issues with Zed's aa. His AD items removing the need for spells is nonsensical. Do you honestly see Zeds running around melee basic attacking people and it being a problem? The problem is exactly the opposite of this.

When he gets enough AD, he doesn't even need his auto to explode someone in 1 second or less and then port back to safety and watch them die when the timer wears off. This has very little or nothing at all to do with his attack speed. This honestly seems like such a bizarre "nerf" that it makes me wonder if you guys are playing the same game I am.

Ohhh, now it makes sense. Nerf him doing something besides his designated role, leave designated role broken and horrible to lane against. Actually sounds about par for the course.

About bloody time! And while they are at it they should gut his mana regen!

Zed's skill AD ratios are horrible. The whole reason you CAN kill someone in one second is because you autoattacked (and the enemy is extremely behind)

By your logic Talon is completely overpowered because when he gets enough AD, he jumps on you, QRR and you are already dead, but it doesn't happen because even at 480 bonus AD (assuming no crit) he still can't do that against a base resist level 18 target.

AD assassins are balanced around the fact that they have powerful AAs and that they use their AAs at least once or twice in a combo. Nerfing AS may not significantly impact Zed's assassination, but it is a nerf nonetheless.

The auto attack speed on the one potential aa in his 100-0 burst doesn't really matter. You always go brutalizer and your lane opponent almost always goes no HP items. You don't need amazing ratios with that, his skill set, and his lack of mana.

You don't need amazing ratios with that

Sorry, I lost what you are referring to as "that". Do you mean the attack speed, or the fact that brutalizer is super effective against mid laners?

And I don't think Riot intended to nerf his kill potential in the first place. They saw a problem with his splitpushing and tower destroying ability and nerfed Zed's AS based on that sentiment. The AS nerf has nothing to do with his 100-0 burst on squishies.

To be honest? If you do some calculations, Zed with only one AA in his combo deals less damage than Talon. Zed is only above par compared to other AD assassins because of his mobility and how he can autoattack more than the others, especially given that his deathmark effectively amplifies his autoattack damage. Nerfing AS can be nerfing how quickly Zed can assassinate based on attackspeed scaling of attack animation frames, or reduce how Zed can kill anyone if he AAs many times, even against tanky opponents or when Zed is far behind.

Yeah, the fact that brutalizer destroys mid laners on top of basically forcing them to buy armor for almost no benefit since you're rushing pen. Maybe he does less than talon, but Talon can't just ult, hit you a couple times, and instantly port back to safety while you die with no possible counterplay apart from flash. I really don't get Riot making champs who need no defense to tower dive with almost no risk to themself whatsoever.

Remember when Lucian's passive was OP and they decided to nerf the AD ratio on his W? Because it totally solved the problem?

Yeah, typical bullshit excuses.

Rinky Dinky2 votes

The reason he could splitpush and tank bust so well was because of how high his attack speed was.

This nerf is very much going to reduce his tankbusting and towercrunching.

He will still be able to delete squishies ;P

InsaneSamurai2 votes

Which is the problem. His splitpushing isn't.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

He doesn't need to auto more than 2 times to delete tanks just as he does squishies.

As a zed main, i understand why they did this. I've done and seen zed's ult aa 2 or 3 times crit leave and the champ they ult'ed blows up.

InsaneSamurai2 votes

Sure.

I think you meant "As a Zed main, I am amazingly happy that I can still destroy almost any mid laner with my broken champ just as well as I used to"

:P

If Zed auto's are oppresive, here's an Idea:

Remove passive increased AD on W.

Add more scaling to Q and E (perhaps make scaling increase with levels).

Q and E are just as powerful as before, but don't have this "hidden" scaling due to Zed W. Also Zed doesn't get like 600 AD by the end of the game.

Just an Idea if you want Zed to be more about utilizing his spells than about auto-ing.
