I think malphite has some problems.

Maybe it's just salty me because I get dumped on every time malphite is on the other team because I'm always the adc, but I feel like he has some problems.

Like his cc. It is barely considered dodgeable, is a 1.5 second knockup (meaning it cannot be qssed), all while bringing him in range to debuff the adc so he can be focused down.

To compare let's go through some other tanks with cc.

  • Sej- dash and ult can be juked. Cc can also be dodged and takes time to be used anyways.
  • Zac- Shadow gives away where he will land, easy to dodge if champ has dash or can be juked. Ult takes time to be used effectively.
  • Maokai- Pretty sure you can walk from one end to the other end of the ult in the time it takes to hit you. W takes time to root and can be qssed. Q is only a short knockup
  • Nautilus- Q can be blocked, dodged, windwalled, etc. Has to be in auto range to use passive snare, which can be qssed. Even his ult, which isn't dodgeable and is a pretty long knockup gives anyone time to run to a safe distance beforehand.

All of them have counterplay. Some can be blocked, windwalled, dodged, etc. Others can just be qssed. Not malphite. the only way to get out of his ult is to flash, which is a 5 minute cooldown. It won't work because he can still ult 2-3 more times before it's up again, and that's assuming you can even flash in time. Then he uses his middle finger for every adc because when he presses e is cripples them for 50% at max rank. That's basically 50% less damage from auto attacks which is massive in teamfights.

His gameplay is rather dull as well. He has a very rinse and repeat style that isn't very fun to play. Every fight, he ults in, eqw, then walks around slapping people. That's it. There isn't really decision making incorporated into it. His e isn't "should I use it now or later" it's more like "it's just part of the ult combo". His w doesn't really do anything exciting either. His q is spammed off cd to slow anyone in range if he has the mana for it. I can only compare him to tryndamere; Little counterplay without a good team, is super easy to pick up because he's so easy to play, but pretty boring because he's so two dimensional.

Anyways, that's just my opinion of malphite. Feel free to disagree, thumbs down, doesn't really matter. I just wanted to know if there were some points I'm missing or if I'm right and they are going to do a malphite rework some time in the future.

Just have a support peeling for you and play and adc with dashes. Oh, also just have some AP in your team so he can't build up 750 armor

interestingly enough that an adc main complains about lack of counterplay, when adc generally dont have counterplay themselves (with only very few exceptions).

there are a few of them like Ezreal with a lot of his damage coming from his q that can be juked

Draven who theoretically should have counterplay with his telegraphed movement (if he wouldnt scale to the point where he can 2 shot other squishies just by activating his q for the first guaranteed gigantic hit, followed by a regular crit)

but most of them have kits with abilities that you cant actually play around to avoid taking damage.

youre either in range and get right clicked while they activate their attack steroids and are able to stat check and win the damage race, or youre not.
