Why does everyone think this is ok?

I report everyone that says "ggez" after a game, under correct circumstances. I don't report people that are clearly joking, like when they just went 0/10 and surrendered at 20.

But for some reason I get it almost every game now. People are constantly saying "ggez" in chat, when they just stomped on the enemy team. Snowballing happens a lot now so I imagine it's real tilting for the team that just lost a game 2 kills to 20 to not even get the respect they deserve at the end of the game. I report my own team and even my own friends for this. I don't care if it gets them on low prio if they deserved it.

I think that nobody actually knows that it is a reportable offense, and the community thinks that it's just ok for people to go around saying "ggez" because it isn't really being toxic. But it is being an asshole with no consideration for others.

The desensitizing is so real. So, being negative is entirely okay to you people as long as it feels good to YOU? What the hell. 1: It's childish as hell, why feel the need to say it anyway? Play your game and move on to the next, don't be a brat over it. 2: it't just as bm as anything else. Just flash your damn mastery at the end of a game and call it good. And being "over sensitive" is not a thing. Desensitizing is.

Eh... I mean it's irritating, but you're giving people that don't want to see kys in chat all the time a bad name.

You're just oversensitive.

I have to agree with you. Typing ezgg is one of the ways you can troll the enemy team. If they were toxic in other ways too, then report them. If it's not okay for someone to say something like this to someone on their team when they are losing, then it shouldn't be okay for the winning team to say it.

while it is true that bming is reportable under negative attitude and unsportsmanlike behaviour, your Response to it is just as non-okay. sure, i can give you the standart answers of "mute and report" to which you got the report part already covered, but reporting literally everyone who gets a Little cocky is just...extreme, if you ask me. some people have had a really shitty game before and felt the Need to express the luck of their present victory with a remark, it happens. sometimes when i have a game that i lost with a 30+ kill difference between my team and the enemies, then stomp the next one i say ggez too to help myself feel better, but if you can do it properly people will know it is no offensive remark or any leaked arrogance.

again, you can just mute and block These people. and while it is true you may still meet them ingame, you will be happy to not hear them say so again, assuming your sensitivity is chronic (constant, everlasting)

I report everyone that says "ggez" after a game,** under correct circumstances**. I don't report people that are clearly joking, like when they just went 0/10 and surrendered at 20.

Who decides what those circumstances are? Riot. No, not you mister Frog. Riot.

I report everyone that....

I don't report people that ........

If you considered every single case of "ggez" as a joke, then no one would ever be reported. It is you that is deciding when it is a joke.

You aren't saying "ggez". Therefore, you have to infer what they meant by "ggez". So you use context clues. Notice how they are called context "clues"? This is because you don't know for certain what the meaning is. The context, gives you a clue, about the meaning of a word. It does not give you the meaning of the word.

The person who actually said "ggez", knows the meaning of the word. You are merely guessing at the meaning of the word. This difference between y'all is called "intent".

Now, that out of the way, how can you practically influence the community?

Do not report them. Calmly and politely voice your opinion directly to the offender. Move on.

"Riot Lyte (NA) One of our philosophies is to try to not dictate what's OK or not OK in League of Legends unless we absolutely have to. We rely on data like Reports, Honors, social media, the Instant Feedback System and Tribunal (when it was up) to help determine the standards of what the community believes is OK or not OK. This is why all of our systems are intentionally designed to be community-driven, because we want players to have the ability to invest in and shape their own community. In saying this, looking at the data, "GGEZ" is considered a negative term, and is reportable. Players generally agree that the phrase is rarely used in a positive context, and is a pretty sour way to end a match."

Riot Lyte may not work at Riot anymore, but the system is still the same. Overall, the playerbase determined that GGEZ was toxic and it was deemed a reportable term.
