Where do i find information on positions
Can someone link me to a riot post, or webpage that explains what the 5 positions are required to do?

Not sure if riot's opinion on what the 5 roles are meant to do will mean anything. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't be worthless, just not to helpful. The meta of the game is made by the players. Riot can change the game dynamic with buffs, and nerfs but its ultimately on us to decide what the 5 player do and where they go.
Best example is to look at ekko. He's supposed to be a hit and run mage with burst. He's built like a tank. Roits trying to curb this playstyle but its still how the majority play him.
Another example is that most players refer to the bot laner that isn't support as ADC when Riot refers to them as Marksmen.
I'd suggest looking up top players and seeing their opinions of the roles since they would have the best experience explaining it.
but why?
I literally just googled "league of legends 5 roles explanation?" and countless explanations showed up. lol.
