Riot doesn't defend those words at all -- they're just not subject to the zero-tolerance system, because all that system is is a system that looks for specific words deemed unacceptable in all contexts.
Behavior like this will reliably end up punished, just not as quickly because there's more nuance involved as far as automated detection goes.
No one is saying that sort of language is okay, and it should 100% be punished. What they are saying is that violating the rules yourself in response to it isn't okay either.
That's graphic, yes, but it's not a threat, they aren't actioning on it, and there is no reason to subject that to 0 tolerance or especially even flat out delete an account just because it's graphically offensive.
It certainly is punishable. But just as "lol I fuvk d your momm last niteee" isn't subject to escalated punishments, I doubt that would be.
And it may be hit harder because of the discussion of rape - they may get punished based on that game alone instead of the 2-3 it normally takes to get a punish.
