Whoever thinks Azir is a freelo is a moron.

I really don't understand what's the fuzz is about. His winrate is never gone up to 50%. His popularity is so low at 6% with winrate of 48% max.

When some retards think he's a freelo, the popularity goes up to 20% and his winrate for down all the way to 40%. IT's so freaking obvious that idiots have no idea how he works, how to play as Azir or how to counter him.

He's a shitty champ to first pick in that lane. He's a great pick as a counter. Other than that, he does do high dmg like any adc but with AP items from the back line. So he's squishy as fuck.

By pass his soldier and game over when he just uses his q. Some champs don't even care if he uses Q or not.

Consider going ham with J4, Pantheon, Viktor, Talon, Irelia, Jax, Xin, Ahri, Leblanc if he picks Azir in mid/top lane first.

Low winrates are an indicator of either a high skillcap or an underpowered kit. And we know he's not underpowered.

In any case, don't use winrates to try to judge power. They are not the be-all-end-all of statistics, as there are a great many variables that go into it, many of which cancel each other out.

Oh and you just conveniently ignore the popularity rate I posted.

Compare the popularity rate to his winrate, it becomes obvious that people like you are a moron and try to make any sort of excuse to play against thim properly.

I can compare popularity rates too, if you like =P

I was not trying to insult you or anyone else. Merely reminding you (and anyone else that may be reading this) not to rely too heavily on statistics without plenty of other supporting data.

That doesn't mean that I think you were wrong. In fact, I believe your original post was essentially correct, but your excessively negative attitude throughout is difficult to get past. Food for thought.

Anyway, some of my own thoughts on the subject:

In my opinion, Azir's relatively low popularity, as well as winrate, indicate that he requires high levels of skill to execute properly, but also that the community in general knows how to counter him (Ziggs, anyone?). You pretty much said exactly this in your original post, albeit in rather earthier terms.

Compare that to someone like Swain. His winrate fluctuates, of course, but typically stays between 52-55% for the most part. And yet his popularity tends to be fairly low, around 4-4.5%. To me, this says that while he is not played all that often, the ones that do play him are very experienced and know how to use him to his best advantage.

I play a lot of Azir and love the champion, but I'm not deluded enough to think he's perfectly balanced.

The reason his popularity and winrates are low is because he has a high skill cap and he gets frequently banned in the ELOs that are capable of playing him well.

Key words "playing him well". None of his ability are a freaking click to win and all cost lots of mana together for a combo with a soldier. I played alot of azir myself but ppl don't seem to think that maybe if you go ham on azir when he just uses his Q and not in the range of his R....he fucked?

I mean, if the Azir is bad and he doesn't protect himself or retreat after using his Q cooldown then sure, that would be the window to attack him. Not much you can do if he just walks back to his turret until his cooldowns are back though.

That depends on which champs you use. He has a standard low ms of a mage. So something that can just jump on him when he just wants to spawn a soldier without using his Q, he can't retreat or get zoned.

He can't escape till lvl 3 and even if he uses the escape, that cost a 100 when he gets ganked.

With an 875 range Q I can't think of many champions who could close that gap before Azir reaches his turret by walking. You don't need to use his E unless there's a gank from your own tribrush.

Sounds to me like you're pushing the lane to their turret constantly. You should try last hitting with autos and harassing around the wave so you don't shove needlessly early on while you're weak. Obviously if you're standing on their side of the river you're going to be open to an all in. That's true with most champions, not just Azir.

Xerath, Velkoz, Nid, has a range of a 1000. I can't think of any champions that can close a gap before azir..... >_>

When he pushes a lane, you can gank him.

Here is the stats, compare the data yourself.

He is really strong but the PBE nerfs are way to harsh

IMO the tower pushing one is fair, I love having mages who can push towers one of my favorite features but he is too good at it early on. The Q change to help focus is damage as DPS rather then burst is good it helps balance him, the Q is primarily a re-positioning tool with a slow to help ensure you get at least 1-2 AAs on the target.

The solider range nerf though is HUGE and really over the top in terms of balancing him. I hate how riot feels the need to do a nerf across the board on him, when other highly complained about champs such as zed and lee get small love taps. By all means try the firs two nerfs, run it for a patch and if you feel like more needs to be done after the fact then adjust it. Don't just beat him down right of the bat.
