I don't want to deal with this p2win OP champs on release in rank games like Braum RekSai Yasuo<--- no one knew how to use him, but look at his info on release, anyone should come to the conclusion he was OP<-- and Ekko

I don't want to deal with p2lose useless UP champs on release in rank games like Bard,Azir, Gnar

Rito, please block them out of rank mode for a week. You can do it when champs are bugged. You can do it for rank games too. Let nubs use new champs to play in other non-rank games

But that wouldn't sell well....right?

There is no denying at this point that your marketing scheme is affecting the health of gameplay and balance issues.

You just release super OP champs when you need sells to go up after every underpowered champs.

Very subtle Rito.

What's the purpose of PBE? Hyping?

You're clearly bronze-silver if you think Bard and Release Azir are useless. You've just not seen a good Bard yet. Add me, Queue with me, and I shall show you the dankness of bardly.

I wouldn't "demand". I would respectfully ask, with proper spelling, grammar, and a well-written argument. The idea is good though.

It's cute how you think that Riot will care.

I don't think we should be worrying about new champs being OP/UP when it comes to having them disabled for the first week of release, it's a bit distracting to the main point because then everyone starts arguing over champ balance instead. I think people just should be given time to learn them before going into ranked, rather than yo first time with this champ this should go well woo. It would also give time for people to learn how to play against them before playing against them in ranked.

i hate the fact that every month a new champion comes out. TAKE YOUR TIME AND MAKE A BALANCED GOOD CHAMPIONS AND STOP MAKING POOPY CHAMPIONS EVERY MONTH.

Yes, I agree with some aspects, theres nothing more frustrating then having a player in rank play ekko then proceeds to feed going 2/10 and goes " first time Ekko lel" This is downright a disgrace for everyone on the team whose sole purpose is to win and this just leaves an automatic handicapped player...

Hell enough of b**ching , its all good to complain but we need proposal on how to fix this issue, one good solution is say you cannot play with a chamion in rank if you havent at least reached mastery 2 with this champion..... Or say you have to have played a certain amount of normal gamess with this champion in order to pick him for rank... These personally are some good starting points to think about..

Agreed. Disable new champions and champions who just underwent a major rework for a full patch.

  1. You don't know how to play him, we don't know how to play against him, we don't know how to play with him on our team (especially since Riot's new philosophy is "if it doesn't have a new mechanic IT WON'T SELL!!!!!!!!!!").
  2. No, you did not master him in 3 days. Stop.
  3. Nobody wants to deal with "must pick new champ regardless of comp and roles".
  4. Possible severe balance issues.
  5. Possible game-breaking bugs.

A champion is not expected to be released in a perfect state, and for this reason they shouldn't be allowed to jump right into ranked.

I do not condone anything the original poster said EXCEPT to say that I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to give a week or even a couple of days where the new champ is disabled in ranked. Especially since many times new bugs arise when a champ is released that had not been found or foreseen in beta testing. That way they can be detected and fixed within the first few days, as well as giving people some breathing room around the new champ.

You keep comparing this to professional play, but how often does professional play patch the same day we do? They can't even think if picking ekko because they aren't even on that patch yet. Also its not pay to win either, you keep saying its pay to win when there is none of that going on for 2 reasons. 1 - what about when a champ is not the best when released? if someone bought it then they lose how is it pay to WIN? 2- no one is forced to make you buy the champ with real money, we get plenty of time in advance to know when a champ is coming out and you can easily get 7800 Ip in a few weeks by playing 1-2 games a day. Yes new champs are annoying when locked in for the first time in ranked but what is the difference between me buying another champ never played, seen played before and lock him in ranked? We have plenty of resources to understand how someone kit will be before they hit live, and you can easily look it up on youtube and other web sites to check on their kit, combos, damage outputs, and everything else.

Don't play ranked for a week? And honestly you can't demand anything from a free to play game

ApolloMk25/31/2015, 2:47:36 AM1 votes

Well, rephrasing here would be good. BUT i 100% agree, champions should be banned in ranked for first week. JUST like you can't play champs in free rotation that you don't own. I lost a lot of ranked games first night bard came out; now the opposite thing becasue of Ekko.

Smokey Joe5/31/2015, 3:35:02 PM1 votes

or you know just don't play ranked

jacean5/31/2015, 4:27:10 PM1 votes

Simple solution. Use your bans. You have three. If you don't want to play against a new champ, then ban them. Riot doesn't need to do a thing.

Baseless assumptions, like the world being flat because you can see across a plains, then it turns into sky at the horizon. Or the sun revolving around the earth, because it rises on one side and sets on the other.

I hate lines like these soooooooooooo much! AAAAGH

GamerGoodies5/31/2015, 5:00:53 PM1 votes

Champion's on probation sounds really....REALLY stupid. People can use what they get as much as they please. Why bother restricting it for a set time?

Even if it's prohibited to do pvp with the new champ, do you know how annoying it would be to try to pull of a pve with just that champ when someone IMMEDIATELY autolocks it? Happened to me with Ekko this week and yesterday.

I agree that you should not be able to play a champion in ranked for a week after they are released but NOT for any of the mentioned reasons. Simply put- Ranked is supposed to be competitive play, not casual. If you are playing ranked you should have some experience on the champions you are playing or it is not fair to your team. I spend tons of time looking up different techniques and mechanics for my main 3-4 champions in each role, ways to use their kits, how to play against counters, ect that when a new champion comes out clearly no one has had time to do this yet. Not only this, but it is also hard to play against a champion you yourself have no experience playing with/against. Every champ is "op" in some way depending on the person playing them. i am all for playing new champs just not in my ranked games where i play to win if you want to play a new champion play it in normals where your feeding wont cost 4 other people LP.
