This is not pay2win?

People can't seriously think this is not a pay2win game entirely.

Like seriously, if Riot release a champ people have no knowledge of but it's broken as fuck like the times of Ekko, Yasuo, or Reksai in Reksai patch to win with them (either you use IP or RP), you either still buy win match with time (IP) or real money (RP).

Obviously on the occasion releasing super underpowered champ like Bard or buggiest champ like Azir, it's not pay2win because you don't have the advantage in that state of balance.

I don't know but, it seems to me Riot has a very subtle early access bias for sale. If they lose sale on new champs, they have to make the next champ more hype and OP to raise the marketing power if they fail to do so with underpowered ones from the last release.

So how is this even fair? They don't even ban it from rank for like a week where people put their rank in line. Isn't this why scrubs insta pic new champ in rank with no knowledge of them? It should only be allowed in non rank for a week.

The only champ I find good design was Velkoz and that's it since.

Tbh, it's damn shameless for the community not to call out on this and Riot thinks that this is not the case.

PS I wrecked Ekko in lane, and won rank game. It pisses me off how he deals shit ton of dmg to adc with one core item like lichbane.

  • 2.25stun cast from invisible location
  • escape + long range gap close in one costing less than a 100 mana and relatively short cd.
  • 0.7AP passive AA
  • %HP missing dmg
  • Self heal from all dmg taken in 4 sec prior casting + ult - dmg AOE with AP ratio higher than Veigar single target.

-0.8AP shield....<----

Sorry, but this champ is shamelessly money grabbing and hype all over the place.

I wouldn't be surprised how it's not gutted to be unplayable like people want with Azir 4 patches after "some" of his bugs are fixed.

There are lots of pay2win games out there, but League is not one of them.

I came in here to discuss what a pay to win game actually is, but was disappointed to find another Ekko thread in disguise.

You don't magically win more games by throwing your money at your screen, hence it is not pay to win. Go play a couple Nexon games.

There have been plenty of champions released undertuned and some released overtuned.

Ekko is no Xin Zhao.

That's not the definition of pay to win.

"Broken" is a pretty fun buzzword, no? I suppose it's a matter of opinion, but I think anything less than a 65% is overpowered, not broken. And being able to kill an adc with one core item is not at all unique to Ekko. Basically every assassin can do that. If an assassin can't do that with one core item, they aren't really assassins - they're fighters.

If your definition of pay2win is "you either use the free in-game currency that you get by simply paying this game or you pay real money even though you don't have to", then you must think every single game where you have to spend time unlocking a power-up must be pay2win.
