Champ Ban for each Team Member (Drafted)

Currently we have 3 bans for just one RANDOM player. This often leads to disagreement or just plain awful bans.

3 bans worked great in the "old" times, but we have over 100 champions, giving three of those priceless ban to just one person who made not listen to suggestions is awful.

Just two bans is what me and others ask for... 2 bans will be so much... and let each of us choose a ban.

Hey, that mid laner you got always loses to LB, but the captain didn't ban her and enemy LB carried.

Hey, that Nasus top always lost to Ren, but the captain didn't ban him and Ren became a unkillable tank.

Or have some sort of poll for the top 3 champions that the team wants banned over all.

I don't really like either of these ideas though, because one major point of the draft system for the captains is that they need to become knowledgeable enough of the meta to know who to ban/not to ban. Individual champions per lane JUST because someone doesn't want to face it shouldn't be banned; you need to learn the match ups and you won't do that if you're given the opportunity to ban someone just because you feel it's too much for you to deal with.

I like the poll idea, but 3 bans still isn't enough.

There's no reason to give the bans to a random guy in Solo Queue. It just doesn't usually feel right to expect just a stranger to ban the right things and not Urgot Evelynn Skarner

That random guy is your teammate for the next 20 - 40 min. Sigh...

There are multiple ways to understand what you said... >.> can you explain?

Look my friend, you said that there is no reason to trust a random guy to give the ban option which means you want to ban 5 champ for your team but the problem is that random person is going to be your teammate for the next 20 - 40 min so whether or not you gotta trust no matter what and let them get a ban option as well. Of course trolls are everywhere but you can do nothing about them.

If you're experiencing Urgot bans, then I feel that is more an issue of your ELO (the people you're playing with) and not the system. Like I said, captains need to be aware of the meta and who is banworthy and who is not... it's ok if good champions get through, because they do not determine who wins and who doesn't. Try to offer advice to the captain if you see him pick a silly ban and hopefully they'll learn from it. If not, then you have to deal with the cards you're given and learn how to adapt.

EDIT: I wanted to stress the fact that 3 bans (6 total) is enough. You shouldn't play scared against certain champions and the system is great in that it allows you to ban away champions that are really strong, but not ALL of them, so you have to choose carefully. One big part of this game is learning match-ups and how to beat them, and you won't climb if you don't! So don't worry about what your team bans, just focus on working together and improving with each game you do.

There were just example bans.

But your entire point seem to be based on that captains should know the Meta. But this is soloQ. The captain is quite literally a stranger. What if he refuses to ban or even trolls? When you add the bans together, 6 may be a lot but then it's THEIR team banning your team's possible mains. Another reason for 5 bans is so the captain/each member can ban one champion for each lane for spend all their bans to one lane to dominate it.

The point of my post is that bans do not make or break a game. You can adapt and win to anything. Besides, all of those champions that you WANT banned have counters, so you can always do that if they get picked.

I'm in Bronze. I don't really expect most of my teammates to counterpick well.

This is why nemesis draft is fun. Each player gets to screw over the enemy in champ select, instead of just the first pick.

Every one should get a ban: This leads to fairness, but more importantly laggers that are late connecting to the lobby will be more likely to get gleaned out in champ select as they miss their ban phase.
