Should Tryndamere's Ult be useable while under CC?

Tryndamere's ult which gives him temporary invulnerability can be activated while he is under and cc(as far as I understand it). To my knowledge, the reasoning for this was that if he was not CCed, he could activate ult and survive and that it would be unfair to prevent him from using this while CCed. It seems to me like this is very unbalanced. For instance, this reasoning also applies to Kindred Kindred's ult, reworked Aatrox Aatrox, and Kayle Kayle. There are probably more but that's what I can think of off the top of my head. If removing this feature from his ult would make Tryndamere too weak, then I'd be fine with adding something else to his other abilities or buffing them in some way, but the way it is right now just seems unbalanced and illogical. I'd be happy if someone can tell me how it is balanced, I just don't see how it would be right now.

CC works fine on tryn, because if you time your CC right it burns out his ult. His ult advantage is so he can melt your face and doesn't have to fear death for a few seconds, he gets CCed and he loses some of that precious time and is put in a bad spot. I often save CC spells when he gets low on health to CC him when he ults just to watch it waste away. I think it is fine as it is.

Hes glass, easily kited, without range, forced to split and afk farm for entire game, usually not very excelling in teamfights, forced to flank enemy team to do something in tf, so Im ok if he can activate his 5 sec ult under cc. Sure he may be broken in 1v1, but teamwise hes more burden grouped up, than splitting.

Yes, because without that ultimate, he is pretty meph.

I would say no since you can't hour glass when cc/ed.

I don't see how its fair to not be able to hourglass. Especially when you're silenced. How does not being able to talk prevent you from using an item?

God forbid mages be allowed to live in this game.

I think the Ult is fine. Trydemere is a character based off of the CEO of right games or something so it makes sense. Just like Ryze is, and he got 6 ranks on his Q and 2 points in his Ult...

Kayle isn't the same and she's already getting reworked.

Aatrox can literally move while he GA's

Kindred I agree this could be a nice QoL change that doesn't break them.

Trynda ult is fine in regards to activation under CC, he is melee and thus more vulnerable to CC than most and being a glass cannon he kinda needs to be able to use it whenever to be relevant, and Aatrox gets to move under his personal GA so its fine for him to not be able to activate his while under CC i think.

And i am fairly sure neither kindred nor kayle can actually activate their ults when CC'd, reasoning being that they are ranged and thus less vulnerable to being chainstunned than say Tryndamere.

But overall Trynda needs a rework.

My problem with it is that even if I successfully pull off Fear Beyond Death he just gets to nope on out, however a majority of the cast is screwed so call it a rightful counter

You can't buff anything about Trynd if you get rid of ulting during cc. His whole kit and playstyle is based on saying fuck all and diving into the enemy team, and if you're stunlocked which isn't rare anymore then what's the point. Tryndamere isn't supposed to fear death, and currently he doesn't. But if you get rid of that then he's scared shitless of any stuns because he will die instantly.

Phoneixflare9/10/2018, 9:14:38 PM1 votes

No. that's what partially makes his whole kit function.

Aatrox gets a GA so he still dies either way there's also a bunch of other shit added to his ult.

Kayle and Kindred's ult can be used for themselves and Allies, especially kindred. Kindred can potentially save a whole team and turn a fight, if it worked while stunned, gl ever getting a fight off. Kayle on the other hand comes closest in terms of playstyle with her ult and AA dps. But she's ranged so she can deal with being squishy much better. Kayle can function just fine without ult.

He would be unplayable if he couldn't ult with exactly the timing he wants. Kayle's ult protects her from damage, period. Tryndamere's ult however only protects him from damage if he was already near death. If you could prevent him from ulting with CC, than killing him would be as simple as stunning him when he's low on health.

I agree; give Kayle the ability to ult when CC'ed.
