Which champion do you people think is the most fair and balanced to play against?

I'm wondering what the community thinks. Provide two champions, please. One for fairest and one for balance. Note that fair =/= balance. Just you both can counter play each other equally.

I think Nami is very balanced. Disagree with me if you will, but I think Zed is one of the most fair assassins ever, since you can predict where he'll go easily and his ways to deal damage are easier to tell what not to do against him.

Of course the fairest is gonna be Sion, everything in his kit has counterplay and for that he's a little garbo. I think Xerath is pretty balanced, he can get a little retarded if he gets fed but he still needs to aim everything in his kit.

Yea, every time these threads come up Sion is always one of or the top answer.

Glad hes getting some buffs on PBE, hes fun to play against.

He's also frustrating to play as sometimes. Played a game yesterday where everytime I engaged I got my team killed.

Was not my finest hour.

TyrekGoldenspear2 votes

I rember that. Wasn't all your fault though. The enemy had like two people who could dive deep and around you and murder our carries, and you were pretty much our only CC.

Ralanr1 votes

Still bugs me honestly.

I'd personally add: Bard, Velkoz and Varus (ADC)

Balanced is probably Darius. I never feel outplayed when I get killed by him, but he has clear weaknesses and strengths. Honestly, fair feels like Cho'gath. He has decent, avoidable, telegraphed CC, and if you're killed by his ultimate, you have no one to blame but yourself, since you got that close to him anyway, or didn't play around his flash.

Unlessss you're melee.

Basically a juggernaut except with ranged hard CC and aoe disrution, tbh. At least, once he hits his lategame.

Yeah he falls off late because ADC's shred him, but against melees he fucks almost every one except the Xin's and Yi's and Fiora's.

Yasuo, lee sin, teemo. All very fair balanced picks that are quite underused and never banned

I don't think any champion is unfair or feels unbalanced to play against.

Ahri Out of all the mobility-creepers Ahri is by far the most fair and most fun to play against - that's why I'd put her into #1 of this category.

Velkoz He is a good example for a balanced Champion - feels good and is always powerfull without being oppressive.

Very few, because increasingly the game is being decided by hard counters to complex kits. Rather than roughly defined kits which provide flexibility in their use.

Fair: Darius

Balanced: Galio

Personal opinion and opinion of the majority of people I ask put Sion and Orianna as the two most balanced, with Sion taking first.

Personal opinion many don't seem to share: Darius is relatively fair. If you play around his strengths and weaknesses you can usually beat him, but if you misstep he punishes hard (as is intended in his design).

Fair: Illaoi besides the occasional bugged tentacle hitbox, both hitting and not showing up, the majority of the damage you take is entirely your fault and coulda been avoided, as her W and autos don't do much damage unless she's super far ahead of you. Although I wish she didn't counter those with a big hitbox so fucking hard

Balanced: Quinn She gets fucked hard by those with a lotta range, and while she has a tool to deal with them, it requires landing a not too fast skillshot that can be bodyblocked (Q). 90% of her dueling against ranged is Q'ing correctly, which can be played around, and 90% of fighting melees is E'ing correctly, which can be baited out or simply worked around if you've multiple gapclosers. It also means she has a really, really hard time fighting multiple enemies if she can't kite all of you. There are some nearly unwinnable melee match ups, but you usually either outscale or she falls off, as her teamfighting is pretty bad, even with the dps ADC build, because her low range and unreliable self peel make her very risky (her E is good against melee, but almost utterly useless against ranged except to wallhop, and if she uses it for damage, she completely opens herself up, and also brings her forward far enough for a diver/tank/support to use some targeted CC or dash to get onto her, and now her E's down as well.

I'd say that Illaoi isn't actually very fair, not because you can't outplay her, but because she can't outplay you. She can't decide where her tentacles go, and she can't force anything. Her game relies completely on the enemies mistakes, making her a low elo stomper but a really bad champion once people know how to deal with her.

Too bad my jungler didn't know how to deal with her [zombie-nunu-tears]

If you land E around a lot of tentacles/ult, only a Fiora has a chance at dodging your tentacles. She can't force anything, but if you can bait a fight into her tentacles or if she gets a good R or E, she can do plenty.

Her ult makes her tentacles undodgable for anyone without hard mobility and/or being lucky with tentacle positioning (so it hits at them sideways instead of a line, and doesn't overlap to cause huge zones of damage). If she manages to get near anything immobile and ults, they're basically dead because her ult removes a lot of her counterplay for those who aren't hypermobile.

Doozku1 votes

Bull, I can consistently dodge all of her ultimate tentacles with Yasuo, and even GP. But even with her ult, she has no real hard cc other than her E, and you can very easily just walk out of her ultimate and wait for it to run out.

Good players know that they can't fight illoai with her tentacles unless you are good at dodging or play a mobile champion, so they don't get baited and wait for a good opportunity. Hell, you don't even have to be good. I'm only silver and even I do this.

When she ults? No, not even that. When she ults 2~3 people, + spirit? Sure in lane, but there she only spawns 1 extra tentacle, so that doesn't count.

So Illaoi sets up her tentacles around baron or drag pit, and BOOM, objective control. I think she did her job fine. Got the baron, or even a seiging ADC/mage... BOOM, tower damage. You wanna try and stop them? Then you need to engage onto an Illaoi with 3 tentacles nearby.

She's like a juggernaut-warden. She doesn't engage fights, she watches you jump on her carries, and then protects them by killing the threat.

Doozku1 votes

Except Illoai isn't very good at teamfights. The best case scenario for her is that she gets into the backline, gets a good 3-5 man ult, and one shots the squishies. In game though, it doesn't work like that. As a juggernaut she has difficulty getting into that backline and she has difficulty dealing with thanks because her tentacles deal no damage to tanks once they get going. Her only other option is to flash onto the backline, where she'll get cced and destroyed. In a team fight, illoai is only really good if she has a hard engage tank like malphite or Amumu start the fight, so she can follow up with a flash R.

That's why Illaoi is better at split pushing. She excels at skirmishes where she doesn't have to deal with being focused by multiple people and blown up, instead she can drop her R on 3 people and just murder everyone, and if they decide not to fight her she can just take towers.

I don't feel she's as much as a Warden as she is a Disrupter. She doesn't have the cc to peel but she has good zones of control with her tentacles, which makes her like say, heimerdinger with his turrets.

If you can take out the diver and the tank, I think you did your job. And the Diver and the Tank are gonna dive right onto your tentacles.

Illaoi is a shit splitpusher, almost every bruiser/tank/diver/skirmisher/slayer/adc/mage can outduel her come lategame... because she gets way less tentacles, so it's way easier to dodge.

I don't feel she's as much as a Warden as she is a Disrupter. She doesn't have the cc to peel but she has good zones of control with her tentacles, which makes her like say, heimerdinger with his turrets.

Yeah, but Heimer has a lot easier time getting towers up near the enemy, because he can plop them down. The only Tentacles that're gonna live are the ones near you, so you can use them to protect but not disrupt as well. So you don't disrupt the backline like a diver/vanguard does, you disrupt the front line like a warden does, but with damage instead of cc.

Illoai has a terrible time dealing with any tanks or divers. Once they get their armor items, she literally can't touch them. Also most Illoai mains agree that she is better at split pushing than teamfighting. Of course she gets outdueled late game when she's an early game fighter that falls off super hard.

Diver's usually aren't that tanky, and bonus points for catching a skirmisher or two.

She might be better at splitting than teamfighting, but her splitting is still shit.

Doozku1 votes

Diver's are still tanky enough to deal with her. But yeah if you catch a skirmisher their fucked. Most have a lot of mobility though so it might be tricky.

the most fair to play against? anybody whos kit i know fairly well

i dont feel outplayed when i get murdered my lee sin cuz i dont know how to play him (dont own him but need to practice him when hes free), when i get murdered by yas or vlad im ok with it cuz i know i could have avoided alot of damage by better positioning.

Annie and Orianna . As a mid lane main these are the ones that truly stand out as most fair to play against. Annie, is , well annie, everything she does is very forward. Short range, predictable tibbers and her damage ratios arent too insane. Orianna is a well rounded disruptor and although i dislike playing against her, she is 100% fair with pretty clear counterplay. Although maybe her damages can see some nerfs she is overall balanced

I'd say Sion and Bard are both very fair champions.

Sion does a lot of damage, but all of his abilities are avoidable in some way, you just need to make sure to play around them. To me Sion feels like a champion with an average skill floor but a rather high skill ceiling, it takes practice to know WHAT to do and WHEN.

Bard is a well-rounded champion that provides everything a support would want, but just weakened. He's able to poke, heal (barely), engage, disengage, and roam. He's a very fun champion that is rewarding if you take the time necessary to learn him. And what Bard does can be played around, such as capitalizing on him leaving lane, destroying his heals, and avoiding his spells.

Yorick, Riven and Rakan come to mind as being in a pretty good spot right now.

They can still do well, but they will not just inherently win the lane just because they were picked.
